I would like to know why the prosecution has not taken the time to employ NASA to blow up Travis' retina. It is very possible that it may be due to expense. But hell, this trial is costing AZ state a fortune anyway. The state is paying for her defense. The state is paying to prosecute. Nurmi is getting a good sum too; $255/hour. Why? Because he left the public defenders office and went into private practice. He did not want this case when it was assigned to him. Only way he would take, it has been said through the grape vine, is if they paid alot of money to him. They had to because NO ONE else wanted it.

I am trying not to worry too much that she (that thing on trial) may only receive Murder 2. I realize I don't know the family or friends of Travis, nor did I know Travis himself, but this case has really gotten to me. I look at how he was killed, and I think of all his suffering in those final minutes, and the idea that someone could feel sorry for the monster who slaughtered him makes me want to gag.
It's also so offensive to me that she's claiming battered women's syndrome. For one thing, she's lied so many times that even if she is telling the truth in this instance, I can't believe her. She said it was basically four times of violence, and I don't buy any of her stories. She doesn't even act like a victim. There's nothing in her that allows me to connect with her, and as someone who has experienced a lot of violence, I am not finding anything in her that allows me to feel empathy with her.
She says all the right things, there is no doubt. But there is no emotion there, no physical reaction to talking about the violence. Not only does she make a mockery of battered women's syndrome, but it also concerns me that if she gets off, that more women like her could kill their boyfriends/husbands/partners/friends, and get away with murder too.
I wonder, in the months leading up to his death, how often Travis wondered what was wrong with him, and how often he blamed himself for not being able to get away from her? How often did he wonder if he could report her to someone, but not do it for fear of being mocked or disbelieved? We'll never know, but it makes my heart hurt even more for him that he may not have sought help because he didn't think he would ever get it.

I think the DP should apply in Jodi's case and not for revenge. She shouldn't be allowed out on the streets again, because she is quite capable of doing it again. She hasn't shown any remorse at all, only fear for her own life. Also, it may serve as an example to some other bitch who wants to stab some guy to death because he doesn't want her around.
Keep in mind, it'll probably be years, if ever, they actually put her to death. She'll have her appeals and whatever, but in the meantime she'll be on death row in solitary. She won't be the prison princess. That is the real revenge and justice. That would be worth the taxpayer's money, for the trial and to feed and house her for the rest of her life.
Other than sheer morbid curiosity and being able to say.."Coooool!" There really would be no reason for the state to pay NASA to enhance the photo of the reflection in TA's pupil. There is no question of who committed the crime or really how it was done. Whether she was kneeling or standing is a mute point at this stage of the game..but for any of you who has a friend of a friend at NASA who might wanna have a go at this class project just cuz they can, (I can't speak for the whole class), but I would be pretty damn interested to see technology at work here.

She was only her defense for a short time and the consensus is that she did it to get lawyers privledges. That was she could talk to Matt or whoever in total privacyInteresting she was her own lead attorney for a period -- wasn't grandiosity part of a personality disorder? -- and tried to get photocopies of letters she forged admitted as evidence that TA was a pedophile. The so-called "pedophile letters". Court denied them, and then Mama Arias tried to sell them to the National Enquirer. Then Nurmi was reappointed lead defense council again.

Basically, it's the power of positive thinking -- what thoughts command your mind are manifested in your life. If you don't think you're worthy of that promotion, your won't get it.
Jodi saying Travis used LOA as an excuse to keep her from chronicling what a horrible person he was is a crock. If Travis truly believed in the LOA, and if he was beating & choking & abusing Jodi, then those behaviors would be manifested in & into his own life. Negative attracts/receives negative.
There are many anecdotes about how Travis was always willing to lend a hand, help out someone down on their luck, open his home to those in need -- which may or may not be due to LOA. But these actions are in-congruent with a bully abuser. And so far, the only source claiming Travis was a bully abuser is Jodi .... and she has something to gain, she thinks, from telling those stories.

Actually, I rechecked and the sentence in AZ for Murder 2 is 10 yrs min, 25 yrs max so I was a little off...it's AZ revised statute #13-710. You can google it and get the whole AZ criminal code, it's pretty interesting. The definition of first degree murder is under revised statute #13-1105. That's why I have been harping on PREMEDITATION...that's the only thing that separates murder 1 from murder 2!

What about felony murder?
They know Nurmi was aware of the document but didn't enter it because he knew it was false. Something to do with I.D. theft, and I think it was proven.
If the court gives both the first-degree premeditated murder instruction and first-degree felony-murder instruction, the court should include the following in the instruction:
You must unanimously agree that the State has proven ?first-degree murder? beyond a reasonable doubt before you may find the defendant guilty of ?first-degree murder.? However, all of you do not have to agree on whether it was ?premeditated murder? or ?felony murder.?

Since the law is giving us exactly what we are putting out, when you hate something the law must continue to give you more of what you hate. You will not be able to move away from it. If this was/is Jodi mindset, she believed loving TA would bring him to her. She ignored all his attempts to get away and did whatever she could to be with him. She repressed all the anger that he wanted to leave her and move on to another girl. Then it all burst out and she slaughtered him. She probably thinks she'll avoid a guilty verdict due to LofA.
The other thing that bothers me are the last 2 words; "Beautiful life" I wonder if Casey Anthony read into the Law of Attraction as well. It may seem an innocent enough philosophy, but if taken to extremes can be very dangerous.
The Prosecution case has been in continuous preparation for five years. The evidence materials have not been sitting in a box in the back of some warehouse gathering dust. You can be sure that the Police and the Prosecutor have employed the most up-to-date resources and most sophisticated technology and techniques in planning their strategies and preparing evidence--gathering and collating witness statements and exhibits for introduction at trial. The technology used to recover and print the Travis Alexander, Jodi Arias e-mails, (is the number 82,000?) is a case in point. The defense has claimed that the Prosecution ought to have provided the information as Discovery by taking a screen shot of each message individually starting back in 2008. The Police Technician has testified that it was an almost impossible task and would have taken years to complete. Since then, technology has emerged that allowed the Police and Prosecution to efficiently extract the information from whatever computer and/or cell phone where it resided, and they used that new technology and they did it. The defense Lawyer, Mr. Nurmi, still attempted to use that time lapse to support a charge of prosecutorial misconduct. His motion got tossed. He will continue to try. That is the Art of Lawyering. The Lawyers are the essential ingredient in this trial. That's why the State of Arizona provides one at no cost to Jodi Ann Arias. They tell the story. The evidence is their props.
Whatever is presented in that courtroom as evidence, will not be enhanced in the slightest by a bunch of crime-scene wannabees, grubbling with the minutiae of whether or not a photo reveals a tiny spot of blood in a corner or by endless speculation on whether or not it is a figure of a Ninja in the reflection in Travis Alexander's right eye or is it Pixie Dust newly discovered in a photographic image taken five years ago. Whatever is discerned or imagined by anyone on this thread, will not be introduced into court as new evidence. No more than the testimony of Mr. Gus Searcy. This is not bloodsport. It is serious business.
Get back to thinking what this tragedy means to the People of the State of Arizona who are Prosecuting Ms. Jodi Ann Arias and asking their Superior Court., in accordance with the Laws of the State of Arizona, to convict Jodi Ann Arias of the crime she has committed against the PEOPLE--i.e. the first degree murder of one of their citizens, Mr. Travis Alexander, on the afternoon of June 4, 2008, and to Order that Ms. Jodi Ann Arias be put to death in accordance with the Laws of the State of Arizona. Share some of that insight with the rest of us. Leave the science to the experts, and the facts to the triers of the facts--the members of the Jury! Despite what science offers us in the way of explanation for what may have driven Jodi Arias to kill Travis Alexander--chemical imbalance, psychiatric or personality disorders, alleged abuse--try to offer some insight as to what other factors were present within her that can offer us some better insight into what made her a murderer. That's the question many of us are trying to grapple with in this case. And that is the gap between what science offers us by way of explanation and the answer to the question we, as a society, continue to grapple with. Maybe there are demons amongst us!!! The unanswered questions are in that gap and they are the important ones. What is it that makes somebody like Jodi Ann Arias a murderer? How can we recognize the next one. You won't find the answers relentlessly and endlessly poring through the photos of the elmos of the photos of Travis's bathroom posted on the internet.
Give it up! When the trial resumes, that sort of stuff will only distract the other members of this thread from focusing on the reality of what is happening and its significance to the People of the State of Arizona, the family and friends of Mr. Travis Alexander, the Institutional Church he belonged to, perhaps the family and friends of Ms. Jodi Ann Arias and, by extension, to the rest of us who seek to live in a society free of the mayhem and the chaos exemplified in the bloody scene in Travis's bathroom that his friends came upon the evening of June 9, 2008.
