The last picture of Travis' face, while in the shower, is like a rorschach test - each of us sees something different in his expression.

There is an on-line test called Mind in the Eyes, where you are shown cropped photos that reveal different people's eyes and you must choose one of four emotions that they are expressing. You can take the test here: Reading the Mind in the Eyes

- this is based on the work of Simon Baron-Cohn and his research on empathy, and his book, The Essential Difference: Men, Women and the Extreme Male Brain.

Anyway, I thought that the folks here who feel strongly about their interpretation of the emotion(s) Travis is showing in that last photo might enjoy taking the test.

I personally see anger/irritation in his face in that photo.

I scored a 31 out of 36 on that test, which indicates I am "very accurate" in decoding facial expressions - according to this test.

I got 32. This may have something to do with my Mother being a psychologist and shoving Simon Baron-Cohn down my throat, though

This may have already been addressed at this point but remember the hours for that SLC gas station were 5 am - 1 am. She bought the gas at 3 am approximately. There is no way she bought anything other than gas at the pump at that time. Yes she's done.

I don't think we can depend on a listing for current hours of operation for something four years ago. And I would think if they close at 1 am that means closed, not partially closed, that makes no sense to me. Gas sales is their main money maker, why would they divert business by advertising they close at 1 am if they are in fact open for gas sales.

Gas sales only - pay at the pump only after 1pm?

That still doesn't account for their published hours. I have a friend that owns a chain of stations. When they shut down hours of close, the pumps are shut off. They would never advertise they close earlier than they do, that would be financial loss. I just don't see it possible. And again, whatever hours is today means nothing for 4 yrs ago.

That said, I do hope JM was able to trace that purchase to gas past an assumption he wants to infer. IMO, this jury has one or more on her side just by a few of the questions asked, JM needs to do more than infer to get the DP on this one.

I've been to many stations that leave their pumps on for pay at the pump after the business closes down. It's saved me more than once in small towns on a Sunday afternoon.

I agree with this. I don't think there is any proof that Travis preferred anal, except Jodi's words, which can't be trusted. Even though he does mention it in the phone sex tape, for all we know she had encouraged him to say that by mentioning beforehand that being tied to a tree and having anal sex was a fantasy of hers that she wanted to "explore" next time the had phone sex. Then she recorded him saying it. I find that scenario just as likely as Jodi's version that tries to make Travis look somewhat kinky.

Just to play devil's advocate a little bit and not that it matters in the grand sceme of things ....
In at least one conversation, if not more, Travis himself said he wanted anal. The one I remember most is something about tying her to a tree and sticking it in her ass.
I don't think he was necessarily the guy he projected to the public and I do think he was a little perverted (which can be a great attribute in the right situation, LOL) but regardless of either of those things, he did not deserve what she did to him.

As a side note on the ? of Life or DP...I would choose DP. She will likely spend 20 years in prison going through the appeals process anyways but I feel the only way to truly punish her is for her to feel that gripping fear that TA probably felt in those last few minutes. She deserves nothing less.

I've been saved several times by stations that leave their pumps on for pay at the pump sales after the business is closed. It is particularly handy in small, out of the way places on Sunday afternoons. I don't know that they "advertise" that they are closed. The one that is near me has "Inside Business Hours" & "Pat At The Pump Hours" posted on the sign out front.

This is a good try...but I don't think accurate. The best video is the one that just shows the photo timeline ( the time in between each photo that was shot either intentionally or unintentionally). Anybody, have that link. I lost it. It is about 10 minutes long and is the most chilling piece of evidence I have seen. It requires one to use their knowledge of the case. If one is knowledgeable, it is clear Arias is lying. It is also clear how Travis had no chance to survive and how she set up the murder. Chilling so...chilling.

I heard a good point made on this a bit ago. They stated that Jodi, who we know premeditated this, thought she would have the perfect murder - kill him in the shower where you can wash the DNA and all evidence away. I think her plan was to kill him right in that shower stall. She didn't count on him getting out and fighting back as much as he did. I think she thought he'd be even more disabled than he was. She didn't account for panic and adrenaline on his end. I think she truly meant to kill him in that stall and wash it all away and leave him there. I think that is part of the reason she dragged him back - to do a part of her original plan (at least try to wash him off) and she attempted a halfass cleanup. I truly don't think she thought he'd make it out of that shower stall.

I think this is the most likely explanation. Because otherwise dragging him back to the shower when she was pressed for time doesn't really make a huge amount of sense, even for someone like Jodi. Since they clearly struggled in several places, just putting him in the shower and rinsing him off was unlikely to get rid of every trace of evidence relating to her anywhere in the crime scene.

Yes, he did have his knees up. But think of how to get to a standing position in a tiny shower. He either had to move to his knees and get up, or he crawled out of the shower. Maybe that is where she got him. As he was starting to stand. Attack the back, he feels pain. He tries to fight her off and she goes for the chest. So many theories. BUT, I do believe she shot him last. I think she convinced him to pose. To me, he looks very perturbed in that last photo. HOW could she hold a gun on him and take a photo? I still think she surprised him after he was getting out of the shower.
