newbie here... but Walmart must have an "electronic trail" as well as paper trail. Apparently the were asked to go back through their computer records and found no returns for the gas can on that day. A sales person would have had to pay JA cash out of their own pocket and not rung it up for there not be a record of the register documenting the transaction electronically.

on another topic: what is the speculation on the "accidental" photos? did she have a neck strap and the jostling triggered the shutter or was she carrying it in one hand while dragging Travis back to the shower?

I believe she taped the knife to her hand. That could be why Travis couldn't get the knife away from her-plus she could then utilize her fingers with the camera. I do not believe for one second that he was posing for her. I don't think he realized that she was even still there until the "surprise" photo was taken.

The duct tape was on his arm. It can be seen in one of the bedroom pics that were taken of him. He used it as some sort of weight monitor meeter. It probably was entangled in the sheets she supposedly used to drag his body. Or, as she was rushing to grab towels and things from the bathroom, it fell on the floor.

Her story was she last filled up her vehicle, (Ford Focus, rented from Budget) at Desert Center and that was sufficient gasoline for all the driving she did in Arizona along with just a little bit she added from one of the alleged two full cans on the way to Travis;s house. She specifically said, when accused by Martinez of having filled her car with gas from the cans as or shortly after she left Travis house, "No. I didn't have to do that." There the matter rested until Thursday afternoon when Martinez sprung his elegant question on her about filling up three gas cans at 3:57 a.m. on June 7, when she was heading out of SLC to get back to Yreka. As an earlier poster on this thread has astutely pointed out, Jodi Arias can't fill up gas cans in Salt Lake City on June 7, until you've first emptied these same gas cans of the gas you put in them in Pasadena on June 3. That California gas in cans must have been what got her out of Arizona without her having to stop to fill up at a service station.

Jodi is still sticking to her story that she only had two cans, but it is about to collapse an account of the fact that her bank statement shows a third purchase of $19.64 which equals 5.09 gals. of gas at $3.859 per gallon which is the price she paid for the fill-up of the car and the fill-up of the two gas cans she admitted to having. There is no proof, yet, that the $19.64 was for gas 'cause there is no pump receipt. Jodi and Mr. Nurmi are now probably expending enormous amounts of energy trying to toggle together a list of things you can buy at service stations, (soda, chips, chocolate bars, strawberry frappachinos, etc., etc.,) that, with tax, will total exactly $19.64 and thus explain away the $19.64 MC charge on her Bank Statement as representing the purchase of something other than gas, and not have her lies about the third gas can exposed. It's probably not gonna work.

It CANNOT work because the amounts shown were for drawing of gas from a pump. I really am not sure why it makes a difference w two or three cans. She was in and out of AZ without stopping for gas. I think he wants to prove every little lie she told.

I have read the first 700 out of 1600 posts, then came current with 1400 and onward due to trial days causing so much to be expressed.

Yet I am amazed by how astute everyone on here is and I wish some of the discoveries made here could come out in court! Some people here should go into investigation!

I have read the complete interview and documentation given and written down by Flores. The lead investigator when he went inside the house. It is amazing. Also, that last pic of him sitting without the head shot - I believe is another shot BECAUSE there are two versions of this photo. One shows him without the ankle and another shows a larger shot. In the larger shot, if you look closely, the door is OPEN at the lower left corner. In addition, there is no water running down glass in that shot. I think she stabbed him while he was getting up to get out of the shower, or she waited until he started to dry his hair. Just my belief. The bullet casing was found in dried blood. It was mentioned that one of his room mates may have kicked it around - it was stuck to the blood. AND, forensics went in with covered shoes and covered clothing.

I hope so! I loved that look on her face. Her smirking was finished. She looked a little shocked that such a small detail was brought up. I think we can thank the mathematician juror, who asked about the cans and detailed the exact amount the car and each can would take. Martinez did not miss that question. He is awesome.

I think she had it in her hand when she attacked him and forgot to drop it. She may have even hit him with it. No strap.

As for the unintended pictures, the camera was on when this started ..... and the shutter button protruded quite high which would allow easy accidental depression on a drop/kick/etc.

I am adding that I believe his last facial shot was not the same as the one sitting. In that facial shot, the water is running down the glass door. In the sitting shot, there is no running water and the door is open. The photo that is not cropped - the door is open and the rim at the bottom is seen. In the left corner there is a small section where you can see that the door it open. So, I do not believe that the last facial shot is the same shot as him sitting. She claimed in her police interview that he was kneeling in the shower. Maybe from the sitting position, he went to kneel and she started on the back. The ME said the 9 stab wounds to the back where from a higher position. Then, he stumbles out and she stabs him in the chest at the sink. His finger prints can be seen on the sink as though he was holding on to it and lost his grip; the marks appear to be drag marks.

He had it on his arm. It can be seen in the bed photo. There are several photos of him on the bed that were captured w the camera. So, I am very sure it was the same tape on the floor.

There is a double point to be made here. The first one is that Jodi Arias might need a full tank of gas, (purchased at Desert Center) in her car and an additional 10 plus gallons to cover the distance from Desert Centre to Travis Alexander's house in Mesa, AZ and back to a place outside of Arizona where claims to have been (or where she recognized she was lost). This could not have been anywhere in Arizona. It had to be Nevada or Utah. Her plan was to get in and out without leaving any possible trail. She had only $10-$20 cash so she couldn't even make a cash purchase in Arizona that was sufficient and she couldn't risk being caught on gas station cameras.

The second point to be made, is if is proved that she needed and filled up gas cans to hold quantities in excess of 10 gallons and less than 15, then she must be lying about having purchased and immediately returned ''for cash'' a third gas can from WalMart in Salinas. When a witness is caught in that kind of a lie, the Jury instructions will be told that they can use it as a basis to disbelieve story. If that happens, Jodi has no defense and she's done like toast.

There is some speculation that Travis was under the impression that Jodi Arias had already driven away but, since Travis never locked his doors in the daytime, Jodi Arias came back in to give him another chance to 'repent' about Cancun and started to play cute picture games that he only just tolerated since he was helpless in the shower but at some point he told her to 'get going' at which point she realized that Travis meant everything he said about not responding to her crazy tactics any longer. That's when she started stabbing. Take it for what it's worth. There's also some speculation that during her 14 hour stay at Travis's house for the fun and games, she actually parked her car around the bend in the street where she had parked the U Haul truck and trailer when she fled Mesa for Yreka earlier that same spring, (was it April?) and that's why his tenant Enrique never saw it on the driveway when he left the house that morning. Could be that when Jodi left for the first time, she retrieved her car from around the bend, loaded it up and said goodbye. Travis went upstairs to shower. Then, just as she had found an excuse the come back after leaving the previous spring, Jodi decided to go back into Travis house with the ''I'll take pictures of your buff bod with your new camera'' ruse and caught him in the bathroom and the rest has already been said.

Yes, I think she surprised him. There is one pic of him in the shower right before the frontal facial pic, and it appears he heard a sound and tilted his head to listen. I am not so sure he knew she was there. She may have put her crap in the car, had her weapons in her purse, went back in to mess with his camera.

Right, because two cans would not hold enough to get to NV. Which is why her lie means so much for her case, that if she only had two she would not have planned to remain covert because that would not have been enough gas. The LIE about the return will be a big part of her downfall. The jury is already suspect because the original receipt does not have the item circled as Wal-Mart ALWAYS does for a return. By saying she got cash back, that implies she showed them the receipt, otherwise they would only give a giftcard. I think Juan let the jury come to that conclusion on their own from their life experiences, so that the Wamu statement had a re-enforcing effect that she had three cans.

She lied about getting gas in Buckeye, AZ, the only one with no record/receipt. Sooooooooo many coincidences add up to guilt. Pick any of her tales and ask yourself if you have experienced any of them (i.e. missing gun where you live, license plates tampered with, return an item for cash without the item circled, purchase price = exactly 5 gallons, accidental photos, using a knife instead of scissors, tied to a bed with no posts, no cut rope piece...), then ask the probablity of all those happening to one person.

No bloody footprints also indicates premeditation, she had a means to avoid that. The timeline of photos is too short for her story to have occurred. The way she describes her body slam with her head hitting tile, she would have been dazed several seconds, and not able to over power Travis. Just my .2 worth!

There is an AWESOME video on FB under State v. Arias, which attempts to prove her lies. It is one of motion of two individuals. It may also be posted here a few pages back. Just wishing Martinez would see it and use it for his summation.

Yes, I saw it. Well..I would LIKE to know if she was body slammed where she was, why is his robe perfectly hung on the wall? If he came at her, that robe would have been pulled or fallen to the ground. EXACT same area she was body slammed.
