Saw an interview with Jose Bias I mean Baez on HLN today. Very interesting. He said that the cards are stacked against Arias because of all the obvious evidence. He stated, this was not the case in the Anthony trial simply because no one could prove how Caylee died. ( Note: Jeez, one would think the smell in the car , the computer searches, the laundry bag, etc. would have been enough). Oh well! One point he made stuck with me.... He said, The jurors may have sympathy with Arias despite her lies because here is a woman who is obviously very intelligent, artistic, attractive. What could her life have been had she not given into her obsession? Essentially, the jurors could decide not to kill her simply because of their sympathy for who this woman might have been had she not been mentally unstable.

Also wanted to ask the group in general. Who wants death and who wants life in prison and why? My opinion is... I want her to suffer a lifetime in jail awaiting the death penalty but I don't want the State to kill her. I want her to suffer the thoughts of never knowing when her time will come, but knowing full well it will. Life in Prison is too comfortable for her. However, the death penalty offers her quick relief possibly. I want her to rot on death row in uncertainty for at least 10 years.....

Another question: Why is the prosecution not concentrating more on their evidence of how Travis was killed. The scenario. It seems obvious to me if one looks at the timeline of the photos on the camera, that Arias is obviously lying. Why not contrast her testimony with the photo evidence?

Same. I want her to rot in solitary on death row. If she gets LWOP that means she'll be in general pop and making a good life in there manipulating people (she'd find her female version or 2 of Bryan Carr) for commissary or drugs or whatever it is people in prison do. I do know I don't want her to just go to sleep. She needs to suffer for a few decades at least IMO.

I will be 58 soon. Our generation lived sexual liberation! At the risk of TMI;, anal sex information was freely available, people did it and some really enjoyed it. Until the mid80's, it was anything goes. Anne Rice wrote wrote books under a pseudonym that makes 50 shades of gray seem like a romance novel.

I was thoroughly convinced Travis was a virgin or at least very inexperienced with the "after baptism" story. Although I didn't believe that happened that day, I figured it did happen. Any one who knows about anal sex knows it can't be done with spit or dry.

I think he's going to save that for his closing. The last thing the jury will see and hear about are those photos, maybe with a demonstration of what can and can't be done in the 120 seconds between Travis being alive and dead.
To answer your question in the post above- I wish one of the jurors would ask her if she still wants the DP now that she's admitted to 'hurting' Travis but I don't imagine jurors are allowed to admit they've seen that tape. I like the idea of her sitting in solitary until she dies of old age. Lethal injection is like euthanasia and she'll probably want the DP after a decade of looking at the wall picking at her cold sores. I don't care as long as she's cut off from access to all art supplies. There's enough ugliness in the world already

Exactly! Life in Prison will be the good life for her. She is a sociopath. She will adapt to and control any situation she can. If she is on Death Row. She has little to no control. What can destroy a sociopath's psyche is NOT having control. This equals suffering.

I am wondering why the prosecution is not showing Travis's texts to Jodi where HE calls her a "sociopath", "selfish" etc. It is obvious to me ( according to his texts) that she was deeply annoying him and that he was unhappy with her because of her inability to FEEL to SYMPATHIZE and EMPATHIZE. Any thoughts? Can anybody posts those texts? I found them yesterday but can't find them today. Amazed these text are not part of the prosecution's case. What am I missing?

They didn't see the one where she said it in the televised interview, but they did see it where she said it to Detective Flores.

Does anyone have the video of the Travis photos where the exact time is shown in between photos via the camera in Arias's hands. It is brilliant. It allows one to realize how long it took her to slaughter Travis which was a couple minutes. It is not a reenactment but the actual time frame. I found it once on youtube but stupidly did not bookmark it. I would say this SHOULD be crucial evidence for the Prosecution, no? Can anyone provide the link? Many thanks, VP

RE: Life in Prison vs. Death Penalty: Yes, Solitary for Life would be good as well BUT....prisoners have ways of getting what they want....despite solitary. I wish there was a punishment called: Death Penalty but 20 years of Solitary before Death is instituted.

This is a good try...but I don't think accurate. The best video is the one that just shows the photo timeline ( the time in between each photo that was shot either intentionally or unintentionally). Anybody, have that link. I lost it. It is about 10 minutes long and is the most chilling piece of evidence I have seen. It requires one to use their knowledge of the case. If one is knowledgeable, it is clear Arias is lying. It is also clear how Travis had no chance to survive and how she set up the murder. Chilling so...chilling.

First of all, I am against the death penalty...it's just my moral code.

Even if I were for the death penalty, for Jodi, I think that would be doing her a favor. I want her to grow old in a cell, rotting away. I want her to get to the point where her "pretty" is gone, and she's just any older inmate, counting the days away in her cell, where no one cares, where she gets no attention, where she has to live with herself and only herself...that would be the ultimate penalty.

See attached. This is the photo that appears on Arias's camera directly after the famous Travis (looking stressed) Head shot. From what i have read, the dark pool under his buttocks has been described as a drain. It is clear to me that this is a blood pool. She has stabbed him already. She either, accidentally presses the CLICK button on the camera or the camera hits the ground and takes the pic. Remember Arias is Left-handed. Camera is in her right-hand. The angle of the picture looks like someone took it or dropped it via their right hand. Thoughts.

I saw those records...they are supposedly from 2002. I went through what they posted, and it looks to me (an amateur) that they are from incident at a grocery store. I think the term "battery" is being used to confuse with "batterer". If you look at the final conclusion it says whoever it is has to stay away from the "stater bros" and "fred lopez". If you google Stater Bros it is a chain of grocery stores...I'm guessing Fred Lopez is probably a security guard? Don't know what it means, but sure it has nothing for any benefit for the defense.

If there was ANY history of Travis and physical abuse against a woman, Jodi would have retold this story 1,000 times!

I'm less interested in Jodi suffering and more concerned that we as a society do whatever we can to avoid such a crime from happening again. I would be for Jodi getting rehabilitative mental health treatment in prison, but our system isn't about rehabilitation, it's about punishing people to make other people feel better under some deluded sense of "justice". No matter what happens to Jodi at this point, Travis will not suffer or benefit from it one iota. Most surviving relatives who have truly found peace after a loved one has been the victim of a violent act eventually come to realize that no amount of suffering inflicted on the person who did it can remove their pain. As unfair as it may seem, it is up to them alone to recover from their grief, and I don't believe that the pain of murder is healed by more murder. While prison as it stands today is a slow death in itself with very little resources to help the many troubled people shut away there recover, if we want to be a civilized society (not that Arizona is an example of one), that should be the goal, rather than a system that spits people out far worse than when they came in. Jodi still has potential even if she has done this horrible thing, as withered a potential as it is compared to what might have been. In death there's no chance for atonement or growth while in life there always is, even in a place like prison, and I personally can't deny someone else that chance. Because I'm not like Jodi. People who so easily would take someone's life have more in common with her, I think.

And that can only happen in SOLITARY. However, just because she gets solitary does not mean she won't be able to get favors. This is why I want DEATH for her...but DEATH after a long, long time in SOLITARY. If she gets LIFE, does this mean SOLITARY or...does this mean she is allowed in the GENERAL POP ? I am against the Death Penalty in some situations.... I AM NOT against the Death Penalty re: child killers, serial killers and murderers like Jodi Arias who slaughter their victims, admit to it finally, but lie about the circumstances in order to save their own life. If you admit to killing someone, be truthful. If she gets the Death Penalty, it is because she has lied so much. If she had admitted to her obsession and lies, LIFE in PRISON is the only fair ruling, I believe.

I was going through the thread playing catch up and wanted to ask a few things but i forgot what they were....anyways.

I've been telling my boyfriend random tidbits about the trial (long distance, don't wanna spend video chat on jodi) and i asked him his thoughts on the .25 gun. He basically said he doesn't believe for a second that's what he would have for a first gun, "stupid caliber choice".

I'm flying out to see him on tuesday, does anyone know anymore about the court schedule? I really want it to start again on wednesday so i can show him martinez in action. Like the ice cream truck vs the freezer, youtube videos just aren't the same!
