It doesn't strike me as weird. How old is Mr. Martinez? Somewhere in his 50s or early 60s? I'm pretty sure that anal sex was and probably still is considered "taboo" by that generation.

I don't know the stats for anal sex, but I would guess that less than half the population has engaged in it, at least in a regular basis. I never have, have no desire to. And I'm in my early 30s.

Martinez is like my parents generation. I would have no problem believing that that generation did not talk freely about anal sex.

HPV is not related to herpes. HPV is linked to some cervical cancers, while herpes in all it's forms are not. Not all HPV are the type to cause cancer too. In fact some HPV infections do not have symptoms (no visible warts). I agree with everything else you said. Get your children vaccinated for chicken pox and hpv! I had shingles a couple years ago and got valtrex from the doctor and it stopped the new blisters from forming. Worked in labor and delivery for 30 years.

Yup, you are correct. I was wrong. Very similar, but there are slight differences. I know that only a handful of HPV strains are linked to cervical cancers (a few, like 16 and 18 are strongly connected)....but nearly all cervical cancers are caused by HPV. I believe only 1-2% chance of even the high risk carriers go on to develop full blown cervical cancer, but the link is unbelievable!
I just got the shingles vaccine this past fall. I saw my parents go through shingles. XO

Woah. Just watched that timeline video and a lot of (good) effort was put into it. The scene that actually took place is how I imagined it went down, and then there were details that I didn't even consider happening during Travis' murder that I'm now aware of. Thanks again for sharing.

That video is amazing. I admire the ability to put together something like that. I'm afraid that was very close to what happened. Rest in Peace Travis.

My friend would tease me because I was never without a boyfriend or a boy that was a friend with benefits from about the age of 15 on. It becomes an addiction almost, where you don't really know who you are because you are so used to that codependency and having someone there all the time. The older I've become, the more I realized that I'm perfectly happy being alone. So I understand why she feels that way. I honestly think it stems with her father. She could have been "daddy's little girl" and by the time her sister came along and Jodi entered puberty and became all rebellious hormonal teenage girl, he shifted his attention away from her. That's when she started to seek out the attention and approval of other men.

I was the same way, I can totally relate. It's sad that she never got help. Who knows if this ever would have happened if she did.

I'm 53 and can assure you, my generation knows all about anal sex. I'm not saying that every person has tried it, I'm saying it was during the 60's and 70's when sex was very free.

Not pointing you out Sneakers, but your comment made me think that it has taken weeks and thousands of questions for him to reach that moment. I am disappointed that Martinez was not able to reach this point sooner, more efficiently, and with less confusion. There are so many lies and she has said so much that it really should be easy to show she is lying.

And also, he can't really prove the gas can was never returned. Not having a record of the return does not mean it was never returned. It certainly suggests it but it is not conclusive proof.

Absolutely, a very good point. They only dated for 5 months, yet they started having sex immediately; anal and oral sex. I could be wrong, but didn't they have sex like on their first or second "date"? And I don't even really consider it a date because they were just doing a group hang-out with friends. Wasn't it at the Hughes house or something? They gave each other oral?

Honestly, I can picture Jodi trying to initiate it and Travis saying they can't have sex because it's not allowed by the church. I could see them then discussing whether anal and oral "counted" and at that point, Jodi decides it's worth it to try and hook Travis, that she agrees to just anal and oral.

I mean, no offense to anyone and their likes or dislikes, but I would find it weird for a relationship to only consist of anal sex. I would have a hard time with that, even if I wanted to have anal. I tend to think that anal is something that people do, once in a while, to add to their sex life, not that it would be the center of it.

Travis wasn't really my type, so I doubt I would've ever dated him, but if I had and he said "we can only have anal sex", I'd be like "Hey, why don't we just be friends!?"
