Have treated literally hundreds of suicidal people. Rarely do they write notes and they don't give them out or send them prior to the deed. These letters have the secondary gain of alarming her family. IMHO.

With all due respect, people that succeed with suicide leave notes behind in approximately 25-30 percent of the time, so it is not rare at all.
