So, if she thought the gun was unloaded, and there was no ammo box around, why would you bother grabbing the gun -- which again, you think is unloaded?

    Doesn't make sense.
I had not heard her say all the ammo was IN the gun. Which seems absurd. Who would buy a gun (with a holster) and only buy 6 bullets?!?!? Was this at the "We Sell Singles" Ammo Shop?? Nonsensical.

I don't think anyone can diagnose Jodi, for sure, without spending a lot of time with her, in person.....testing and analyzing.

During cross-examination, Arias faced Maricopa County Prosecutor Juan Martinez's questions about her activities following her July 2008 arrest for Alexander's murder. During this line of questioning, Arias claimed God was the only witness to what went through her mind at the time.

"God's not here. We can't subpoena him," Martinez replied.

I am in no way pro-jodi but I have to say that I am fascinated by her. I really wish I knew what is and was going on in her head.

Yep. I believe it was Martinez cross-exam and he asked where the ammo was. The police obviously found no trace of a gun or ammunition because it wasn't Travis' gun. But, if we were to believe it was his gun, he would surely have had ammunition for it, Jodi's answer was that all the ammunition that there was, was loaded in the gun.

Then, of course, she said that she thought the gun was unloaded. Which, kind of defeats the purpose of having a gun, if you have no ammo.

When the video of Travis shooting assault rifles with one of his friends turned up last week, I was sure she was going to claim that Travis took the gun shooting and used up almost all of the ammo. I wanted to see the reaction from well, everybody, if she had claimed he took a puny little pocket-gun .25 caliber to take with guns who were shooting off assault rifles.

Sadly, she did not go there.

[QUOTE=AnnieBelle;3346350]Thank you. And I know you are referring to Jodi, in this case, in a whole different light. If someone takes their life because they just don't want to deal with consequences that are unpleasant.....that is different than someone who takes their life due to a mental illness like Major Depressive Disorder or Bi-Polar, etc. That is the difference that the churces recognize, today. Even after so many years, suicide is still such a tough subject for me. And, to hear Jodi talk about it so lightly....honestly, I think she makes a mockery of mental illness as much as she does for battered and abused women all over the globe.[QUOTE]

    Agree. Very well said.

I'm recovering from a broken ankle so I'm on a huge reading binge. Just finished a biography of Heydrich, Himmler and a couple of books about Eichmann's trial and his capture by Mossad.

I hope someone on the juror asks this question:

"Did your nearsightedness contribute to the fact that you never noticed that Travis had a bloody hole in his face while you claim that he was trying to beat you? "

Especially small bullets (.25 is small). They come in boxes of 50 or more...

Maybe Nurmi has his mind on the wrong holes.
HA! Good point on the "wrong holes!" Totally agree and I can't stand the guy, but looking at it all and trying to be impartial as the jurors are asked to be, I can see for example how some of them might be thinking, maybe she did want the gas cans b/c she was going to driving across the desert in the middle of nowhere. And was she really stalking/obsessed with him if she wrote in her journal how she couldn't see herself marrying him and that there was something 'off' about him? After all she did move away from Mesa back to Yreka to get away from him. And as for the question of "why did you keep going back to him", at the risk of TMI in my younger days (long time ago!) I was in a relationship that I knew was unhealthy and bad for me, but the physical part was too strong and it does keep pulling you back even when you know you should run the other way, and if that resonates with me it just may be reaching a juror or 2. And renting the car in Redding, so what? It was on the way and what was she covering up by doing it that way instead of in Yreka? Is he saying she was trying to keep the fact that she was going on a road trip a secret? Her brother knew, I assume the grandparents knew since she lived with them, the ex-boyfriends knew and Ryan Burns knew. It doesn't mean a thing to me as far as premeditation.

I am NOT on Jodi's "side". I do NOT want to see her get away with this. I just don't think Juan Martinez has made his case. I welcome any differing opinions, and I truly hope I'm wrong!

It's not horrible at all. I'm kind of torn myself. On the one hand I agree with you that it's good that she doesn't have to hear all these malicious lies about Travis. But, on the other hand, it's sad that she didn't live long enough to see justice done; which I believe it will be!

No, you're right about that... That poor woman should not have to listen to this crock of bull.

The rest of his family shouldn't either, but I think it would have been really hard on grandma... :(

Sneakers is my beloved dog. We call him Sneak Dog for short. He is 8 1/2 and the boss

He was actually my Mom's dog. My brother passed away in 2003 and my parents were devastated. My Dad had not yet retired and so my mom was alone all day in the house and severely depressed. In 2004 she decided (against my Dad's wishes) to get a dog on the pretense it was actually going to be for my daughter ~ although we lived about 65 miles away in another city.

In 2008 my Mom suffered a devastating brain aneurysm. She survived but her short term memory was destroyed and her long term memory was frazzled but while still in ICU she began asking for Sneakers. The hospital actually asked me to bring him to see her. My mom lived on in a care home until April last year when she passed on from liver and ovarian cancer.

Sneakers, I believe saved my Mom after my brother died ~ gave her a reason to get up every day.

ps: My Dad is Sneaky's BFF and spoils him silly!

I guess the question I would have is, WHY did Jodi HAVE to drive across the desert in the dark in the first place? She didn't have to, did she? She could've woken up early and driven during daylight hours, couldn't she?

And it's not like she was driving across the Sahara. There is civilization along the way. All she had to do was keep an eye on her gas gauge. Most newer cars (though I don't know in 2008), have computers that even tell you how many miles you have until you will run out of gas.

GPS existed in 2008. Even on cell phones. If she didn't have one, why didn't she skip the wax-job, manicure and 50 stops at Starbucks and spent a few bucks to rent one along with her car?

She likely moved back to Yreka because she didn't have a job in Arizona and Travis was done paying her bills and lending her money. Not because she was done with him.
