This was updated in the latest Cathechism, written by John Paul II. Long gone are the days where they could not receive a Catholic funeral and burial on consecrated ground. I sought counseling within the church, as well as reading the Cathechism, as this "stigma" weighs SO heavily on those that suicide leaves in it's wake. Sorry for the rant. :(

I am so sorry about your husband. I hope you have found some peace. I truly believe that God understands ours minds. He knows us and knows is just and loving.

So sorry to hear that and yes I do agree that certain circumstances would be considered in "God's" judgement of the reasons for suicide. I am not so sure that her reasoning makes any sense.. besides why did she fear for her life so strongly that day only to consider taking her own life after the fact.
