This may not be relevant at all at this point but I have pondered this since this weekend when I watched the trial just to fall asleep, haha! We know that Jodi peppers her lies with truth yes?
I have been thinking about her drop and roll act when she said that Travis was grasping at her and pulling at her clothes which she claims he was still trying to harm her. I tend to believe he WAS doing something like that at one point in an effort to get Jodi to help him!! The other thought I had was what if he did say "kill you bitch!"? We all know what it feels like to just merely hit our head on something and then have that instantaneous reaction which is usually followed by an expletive...the man got shot in the head!! What if it was just a spontaneous utterance!?
Sorry, those two things are bothering me for some reason.
It's the "I can't feel my legs" that really gets to me. I really feel like he said that at some point and it breaks my heart every time I think of it. The "kill you bitch" just never rang true for me, sounded way to similar to the kinds of things she said the ninja's were saying, and didn't seem to be the kind of thing travis would say, even under duress. The grabbing at her clothes? I could imagine something like that happening during the struggle for the knife, maybe when got those defensive wounds.
GAWD I hope not. I just can't take another listen to that sex tape (who ever thought someone would utter those words).

It is just so hard to tell what could be true with the whole thing. Like you said, a sprinkle of truth in something makes it a more credible story. What bothered me about Juan's questioning is that he completely acted it out with her the way she said it happened. I am hoping he tells it the way the evidence and medical examiners describe it in full detail. Like a sick murderous novel. How she was taking pictures of him in the shower and told him to turn around and then, stab, stab, stab, stab, struggle, stab stab stab, crawl away, stab stab stab stab, slice, blood gushing, then drag to shower, gun shot to head, shower over the body, evidence clean up, etc.. The blow by blow is what the jury really needs.
Wow, u just described me in the past, to a "T!" Like your friend tho, I woke up and chose to walk away and move on... I had terrible thoughts, don't get me wrong, but what I did is go straight to a friend and she helped get me into therapy! I'd never physically harm anybody for not "giving me my way," but just the thoughts I was having scared even ME... Thank God for good friends and family, and above all else, self-control. Something Jodi obviously lacks... So sad for Travis! I never met him, but even I feel the void of him gone out of this world :(
This is a great point, and similar to what I said a few pages back (although I don't think anyone caught it because the thread moves fast), plus you worded it much better than I did (re: the "kill you bitch" statement). I'm curious, IF he did say that to her, in her testimony it came AFTER the gunshot to the head. It seems it's his right to say that because he'd been shot in the head. It wasn't justification for her to keep trying to kill him (imo).
The other part of her ninja story that really gives me the heebee jeebees is when she's describing how Travis was just screaming and screaming and, at one point, he was crawling on all fours and then told her he couldn't feel his legs. To me, that's horrifying, if it's part of her truth.
I just don't feel she has proven self defense in any of this. She had ample opportunity to get away. When she got up from the floor after being body slammed (which seems impossible to me because she would have been out of breath), she said she ran right, instead of left. Her poor choice in taking that right (into the closet) should not (imo) make it right for her to then grab a gun and shoot him in self defense. She makes a poor choice, and is allowed to kill someone? This bothers me.
In the second part of her story (when she's in the closet), didn't she testify on cross she had time to hesitate for a minute after shutting the door, and it's at this time that she remembers a "gun" in the closet from her cleaning days? It is then that she makes a conscious choice to get that gun, goes into a far corner of the closet RIGHT PAST AN EXIT DOOR and somehow is able to superwoman it up to the top of the closet to grab that gun, then run out of the door, turn around or pivot, and point the gun at Travis. This whole time, Travis is naked and wet, and we are to believe he's running with his junk hanging out and vulnerable toward a crazy woman with a gun? I can't wrap my brain around this either.
I'm hoping that at some point, JM goes through the time-line on those last photos. There is so little time for her story to play out. It is more likely that she either shot him or stabbed him while he was in the shower...either while he was still sitting down, as he is in that last pic, or as he's beginning to stand up. Those little showers are so cramped, it wouldn't be easy for a man of his stature to stand up quickly. He would have had to lean forward towards the door and then push himself upward into a standing position. My husband and I tried this, with both of us doing it in a tiny shower just like Travis's. Neither one of us could get up quickly, and it was more awkward for him because of his girth. I believe it was at this point that Jodi was able to stab him in the chest, and it could be also at this time that he grabbed the knife with his hands. He would have then toppled out of the shower, and then ran to the sink to look at what she did. His heart would have been beating fast at this point and bleeding out from that chest wound would have been quick, and he would have dropped to the floor for her to continue the stabbing, all the while trying to get away from her down the hallway towards the bedroom.

I couldn't at all, I muted it and then just switched off altogether because I can't stand to watch this woman try to justify what she did. Though I understand JM lost his temper a little and I completely missed him questioning her about the journal. I may have to just find that part to watch.
Will try to watch again today but I honestly can't stand watching the poor guy being dragged through the mud any longer.
I came in late to the trial and it was the same thing we heard two weeks ago. I managed to listen up until the last half hour mark and had to turn it off. Grocery shopping was waaayyyy more appealing!!
I agree. When in doubt, pull the sex tape out.I just cant listen to it anymore. Hoedi made that tape for one reason and one reason only: BLACKMAIL. Travis had no clue she was recording it!! I am sure Travis rolled over in his grave. Again.
I watched it, but vented to my husband the whole time. I was so upset when the judge decided to allow it. I thought the words on the screen while the edited tape was being played was a shitty defense tactic that grated on me and I sure hope it grated on the jury. Also, as stated earlier, I was not pleased with someone typing the word "f--king" over Travis's actual spoken word "porking when he didn't say that.

That transposing of words from "porking" to "fucking" done pissed me off!! Very underhanded!!!
One thing I thought about last night was the day the Defense tried to get Sex Tape 2.0 into evidence, the day Jodi was VISIBLY upset and had been crying for real. Now that i've heard both versions I see why she was so upset. Yesterdays version hardly showed the real Jodi and the way she manipulated Travis sexually. Thank goodness for Super Juan and fighting for the jury to hear the real version first. Hopefully by now they have seen through her bs and will discredit that crap the Defense pulled yesterday.

I'm feeling the same way everyone else is. I was so excited for her to get on the stand. I couldn't wait to hear what she had to say. Now I just wish it would end. I'm so tired of listening to her and Nurmi drag this on forever. I'm hoping it ends before the 5th anniversary of his death. But at the rate we're going she's still going to be sextifying on the 25th anniversary of it. This is insane. I'm ready for the verdict already.
No trial today? I thought they said trial would resume at 10:30 today?
