I had a feeling that there was something off about what she was saying. I can't imagine WHY she would say something like that- something that is so easily verifiable? It seems like a really strange detail to get wrong.

The only reason the issue caught my attention is because of the great amount of attention Martinez focused on her position, (her head pointing to the north, etc.), after she allegedly went down from which she rolled to the left to get away from Travis clutches and then got to her feet and started her run down the hallway and into the closet.

I think that Jodi read up on how to kill most effectively, because if the shot came first she knew that he would be vulnerable. She probably was talking to him, mad because he wasn't taking her. She took the knife and gun with her, and was ready for the attack.

Agree! He had to refer to his notes, but the brain was soft. He was still able to take slides, but it probably had a very mushy consistency. It would have started to collapse into itself and shrink back. That is why he couldn't determine the exact path the bullet took. But, by measuring where the bullet entered the skull, and where it ended in the cheek bone, he was able to determine where it would have passed through because the brain would have been totally filling the skull cavity at the time he was shot. He was saying that he did not SEE any signs of bleeding in the brain, couldn't examine the path the bullet took through the tissue...but, based on what he COULD see, he came to the opinion he did. Does not mean that is carved in stone. It just means that is a good possibility. And he never stated he was sure of the sequencing. Only theorize.

I agree.....doesn't seem to make much sense, does it?! Frustrating.

and this one too. I watched him testify too. I don't understand how his testimony could be so misinterpreted. I don't know if Willmot confused the hell out of people or what but thanks again for this.

Sorry but only human sounds like an excuse, we are talking an expert, not some John Doe. I don't care what we think of JA or this case .. in our system a woman's life hangs in the balance. I expect better from so called experts.
What I heard is doube speak I can never say seq, but he speculates a seq anyway. I don't care how much experience he has, double talk is double talk . I don't care if I hear out Jodi or someone else, I am just saying that is my feelings when I hear it.

I think he did that because she said she was a few feet from next to the tub and then she tried saying Travis was standing to her RIGHT..so in between her and the tub, which is virtually impossible because she was so close to it that he would have been squeezing to fit to be standing there "over" her so she could roll to her left. He focused on it because he wanted the jury to see that it was HIGHLY unlikely!

"nonexistant, liquid" to slicing - nothing confusing about it, it's a great contradiction simply.

now i'm really curious if he was actually shot first. could it be that he just bled into his sinus cavity and this couldn't be detected due to how long it took to discover him?
I meant to touch on this and forgot. Yes. This could also be the spatter on the sink. If the bullet went through his sinuses (and face for that matter) it could have bled into his nose and mouth, causing him to cough.

She admitted to searching and watching anatomy stuff on the computer!

South end of bathroom at the end of the double sinks.

they pointed out in court that the casing for the bullet was found on top of blood, not covered in blood. i think they were trying to make the point that he was stabbed first, but it seems like it could have rolled into the blood. but still, that would probably leave blood on more than just the part of the bullet lying in the blood.

I've been reading here for a week or so & appreciate everyone's thoughts & insight.

I have a picture of the scales & the trash can but I don't know how to post it. I can't remember where I found it or I would just post a link to it. I don't know how big the tiles are in that bathroom but the trash can is tucked into a corner niche formed by the corner of the room and what appears to be a cabinet. The niche is about 1 1/4 tiles wide. The scales are next to the wall & about 1 1/4 tiles away from the trash can. If Jodi was near the trash can & Travis was laying where the blood is, near the scales, the cabinet would prevent her from doing much rolling.

I loved the part where Willmot was questioning his knowledge of whether or not the bullet actually passed through the brain. He looked ready to blow a gasket! And her questions were silly, really. I was almost embarrassed FOR her, thinking that she really was grasping at some pathetic little straws with that line!

Forget my previous posts about where Jodi landed after Travis came at her. I am obviously confusing the moment when she said Travis came out of the shower and body slammed her and the later time when he allegedly came out of the closet and she shot him.

I will do a better job of checking and try to sort it out myself. I do think, however, that she contradicted herself on cross-examination from what she said on direct with respect to where she landed; i.e. near scales or trash can.

    Apologies!

I couldn't believe the judge didn't tell her to move on. It was embarrassing! My husband looked at me and said..."Really?? How many times is she going to ask the same question??" She tried with all her might to get him to say that it didn't go through the frontal lobe. ... IT HAD TO!

No need to apologize. You would seriously need to take massive notes on what she said. She even said on testimony (when referring to her tv interviews) that she couldn't keep track of her lies. (I still can't believe she said that on stand).

Initially I thought he allegedly had only "body slammed" her that one time when the gun went off. So...no worries.

I missed that part of her testimony. But she does think she smarter than anybody. I just hope that the jury can see her for what she is.

I also think that when she met Travis she thought she could get him to marry her, since she knew that Darryl wasn't thinking or planning to marry her. Soooooo this hunk had a lot of pertennal being that he was already moving up the ladder in PPL. Making big bucks. Thought she could Pussy whoop him to do what she wanted. One thing I can not stand is a nosey partner, if I want you to know I will
tell you. Snooping into media accounts is a no. No-No. She probably was snooping into his bank acvount as well.

She drew the best evidence AGAINST her client's story actually.
She spent like five minutes on how gun shot to the head would bleed a lot!
Then her dipshit client gets on the stand and says, oh, I didn't notice anything different, didn't know I shot him.

Yeah, I remember that discussion. It's plausible the shell casing was given a swift kick and landed on the blood. I heard some dude, from one of the clips posted last night, said it is absolutely impossible. Orly? It doesn't have to be smeared in blood to have been kicked and land on the blood. Another possibility is the casing fell in the shower and was tossed out in the 'clean up' for what ever reason.

I think it is irresponsible for the investigators to say it is impossible. There are many instances where science is defied and the public is expected to accept the 'educated guess' of the 'expert.'

i agree that it's irresponsible for them to say 'impossible.' i thought the MD did a fairly decent job explaining there were things they couldn't say for sure. i just don't know. the defensive wounds still make me think he was stabbed first.
