They are so good at it, that they often have you second guessing yourself and feeling like it WAS your error or misconception or misunderstanding. They pull you right into their clutches, and you barely even know what is happening. The "you and I are a team" mentality is the first thing I thought of when Jodi converted to the Mormon faith, when she moved to Mesa, etc. She was invading Travis' world, entwining herself into his life, and he probably never realized it for what it was until she became a true danger to him.

And it was set in Monterey...more than a few connections to Jodi and the crime.

I can remember seeing and hearing Clint Eastwood, when someone asked him about Fatal Attraction, saying the words 'rip-off' in a very muted voice and in a very gentlemanly manner. Jessica Walters and Clint Eastwood were magnificent in that movie, (1971) and the soundtrack gets worn out in my house. Everybody on this thread should find and watch that movie before this trial ends.

So, Jodi's childhood friend never mentioned Jodi being abused as a child, nor that she acted like someone who was. Have any of her friends claimed to have seen/known the alleged abuse by her parents, in any other interviews? Not that people don't keep abuse to themselves at times, but Jodi doesn't seem the type. She would use that to manipulate, like she used everything else that she could to manipulate people to help her, feel sorry for her, etc.


Ironic that Jodi kept going on about how Travis dated other women. Yet, I can recall at least one point where she had 2 dates in the same day, when she was dating Travis. And all the delight in her journal about having been asked out 4 times in one day, and so on. I think they both dated others, but she was doing so to make him jealous and try and get him to commit to her. Whereas, he was dating other women because he was interested in other women, and not to make Jodi jealous.

"The gun went off by mistake", just like the knife flew out of her hand 29 times, by accident.


I do have a question, if anyone knows. We know that Jodi somehow screwed up Travis' BMW while it was being towed or something, right? Did she get that fixed? Did she still have the car? What happened to the car?

I definitely agree that she was too lazy to make a life for herself, but just because she dropped out doesn't make her stupid...her decisions make her stupid. I too dropped out of high school (mine had to do with a crazy family situation and me having to leave the house and support myself at 16). I am now a CPA and starting my Doctorate. Dropping out doesn't necessarily mean you are stupid, however if you throw your life away after the fact that is a stupid thing to do. I think Jodi had some potential at one point in her life but I think she chose the easy way out.

Yeah it is the same girl. She was in court for the trial, for a week (don't remember which one). She was crying, and looking high as a kite, most of the time. She's her BFF.

I admit I do go to the serious side when I see someone accusing an atty of a crime. eek, That is the kind of thing you could be sued over and they aren't going to care if you thought it funny or not. Just saying

If I did, I couldn't defend most of them. I ask them to tell me what happened and I build their legal defense based on what they tell me." Nurmi's too smart to do otherwise. He's not going to suborn perjury and lose his career for Jodi Arias. If Jodi told him what really happened, (according what most of us think) he couldn't possibly put her on the stand to lie. That would be suborning perjury.

No, I realize you weren't referring to me specifically. I just think it's too easy to fall into the 'she dropped out of school so she is stupid' path of thinking. That would be an excuse for Jodi. She wasn't stupid and she had some potential at one point...she just wanted everyone to hand her everything. She could have gone back to school and done something with her life even right up to the murder. She didn't though because by that point she felt like everyone owed her and she was going to get what she wanted or make someone pay.

I think you are picking out partial dialog and it was a packaged sentence that held a concept far more complete than just dropping out.

Was she the one sitting right next to Jodi's mom (or aunt....they look a lot alike!)....she had a top on, with a wide neckline, and it dropped down and her brastrap and shoulder were exposed. I remember thinking "not how I would have dressed for court, knowing the cameras will be right on me!"

I was just pointing out that you are underestimating her evilness/sociopathy by writing her off as just stupid...for dropping out and in all the things she has done in life. I just wouldn't say she is stupid-lazy, manipulative, evil, conniving, etc...but not stupid. That's letting her off easy.

Ah, that is the million dollar question. Prosecution says one was taken as the camera was dropped and the other two were taken when she stepped on the camera. I know some have speculated about the timer and I think it's plausible. There has also been a discussion that she had the camera on a strap and it got knocked around in the whole struggle and the pictures were taken/timer was activated during all of that.

I'm not writing her off as just stupid for dropping out. I'd say her whole package is the perfect example of stupid. She was a drop out that by almost 30 was still a loser IOWs. A parasite, getting caught at committing murder. In my book, that all adds up to pretty darn stupid.

Sort of a "don't ask, don't tell" policy. I totally agree with this. Everyone is entitled to a defense, legally. I have heard of defense attorneys that withdraw from the case, when they feel they can't adequately defend the client (and when they can't find themselves believing in a client's innocence of the charge.) Their job is to find some sort of defense theory that might cast sufficient doubt with jury. He is defending her by claiming self-defense. And they have come up with a possible reason for that. The defense doesn't have to prove anything....just try to cast some doubt on what the states case is. Nurmi is doing the best he can, with what he has to work with, I believe. He is shoveling s**t against the tide.
