She took a check for $200 out of her purse. I put it on my desk and carried her luggage out to her car. I figured she was gone so I went upstairs to shave my presidential beard. Next thing I know, there's Jodi in my bathroom with the camera and her purse. I thought she was gone already!

Nurmi: So how did you feel Mr. Alexander?

Travis: Pissed off. I can't get rid of this woman. I have stuff to do. An important call. A trip to Mexico. Organizing my pristine closet.

    Nurmi: And what happens next?

Travis: She starts talking about taking shower photos. Just to put on her stupid Myspace. She could never get enough of Myspace and posting photos. I figured the easiest way to get rid of her was to play along. I got in the shower and started to show off. I was worried she was going to blackmail me with these on ldslinkup.net and I felt trapped into doing it. That's when she started back on the Mexico trip.

Nurmi: Mexico? You mean your PPL trip to Cancun for two?

Travis: That's the one. Jodi starts talking about how she read my text messages and she knows that I'm not taking that babysitter. I was really taking Mimi, I was hoping I could break her down on the trip with my motivational speaking and slip it into that uptight Mormon backdoor. But now my cover was blown. And Jodi's taking pictures and saying she knows I'm a liar, I'm busted, and I'm just like, bitch please! Just GTFO!

Nurmi: I'd like to enter exhibit 69, the "bitch please!" photo.

    Judge: Exhibit 69 is admitted.

Nurmi: So Jodi was confronting you. What did she do?

    Travis: Jodi tells me

    Martinez: Objection! Hearsay!

    Judge: Overruled

Travis: So, Jodi says that if I don't take her to Mexico and marry her on the beach in front of everyone from Prepaid Legal, that I will lose her forever. If I take Mimi to Cancun, Jodi threatened to drive to Utah right now to fuck Ryan Burns until his dick falls off. That sounded great so I sat down, right there in my own fucking shower. Just to process this and chill. I looked up and I said have a good time in West Jordan! I could taste freedom, she was about to bounce. Jodi was now some other man's problem. Better him than me.

    Nurmi: And then what?

Travis: I'm sitting in the shower, arms on my knees, looking down and shaking my head, like WTF is wrong with her? Next thin I know I felt a crushing pain in my chest and Jodi was on me like a spider monkey.

Nurmi: A spider monkey? What do you mean by spider monkey? Can you get up and demonstrate to us what you mean by spider monkey?

Travis: I would love to, but I'm dead. Anyway, she stabs me right in the heart with a chef's knife I won for being Arizona salesman of the year. I used that knife to make brownies for the Mormon bake sale. She's screaming "fucking kill you, you cheating bitch!" and stabbing again and again. I struggle to my feet and she is riding on my back, stabbing away as I wobble to the sink, now I realize I'm spitting up blood. This just got real.

Nurmi: How were you feeling at this moment?

Travis: Terrified. I was shaking like a chihuahua and the knife was bouncing off my skull. The lights were starting to dim but I saw daylight at the end of the hall. If I could just get down the stairs and into the street, someone would see me and get me to a hospital.

Nurmi: What do you remember next?

Travis: Well, my memory starts to get foggy. There is a huge gap. I was losing blood and the adrenaline was flowing. It was fight or flight. I'm crawling down the hallway bleeding, and she catches up to me at the end. She flips me onto my back and I can feel the carpet under my head. I almost made it. And then she slit my throat. I bled out all over the carpet.

Nurmi: What did that feel like?

Travis: I wasn't feeling too much right then, it was just like the sun setting. I was trying to remember good things and pray for forgiveness and mercy. I was just asking God for help and protection.

    Nurmi: And then?

Travis: Jodi dragged me back into the bathroom on a bed sheet and shot me in the head with the gun she stole from her grandmother.

Nrumi: So self defense, were you defending yourself?

Travis: I never had a chance. Even if I wanted to defend myself I was trapped in the shower all naked and wet and the first stab pretty much was enough to kill me. I held up my hands and she stabbed my hands. I turned my back and she stabbed my back. It was even more symbolic, to use one of Jodi's favorite ideas, that she stabbed me in the heart since she had been trying to rip it out since the day I met her.

Judge: Jodi is crying again! RECESS!

    True story.

Kind of puts into perspective how much Jodi is projecting. All that rage she talks about ... that was HER rage. When she talks about Travis "guilting" her, she's really talking about how SHE guilted Travis. Probably quite often. And when she tells HER version of the murder, it's like she's telling it from HIS perspective. He was being terrorized, not her. She's a sick person.

    RIP Travis.

Yep the defense has a long weekend ahead of them to TRY and make sense of everything. LOL
Then once they're done, I think we're really going to see what kind of jury we're dealing with here when they finally get to ask their questions!

I'm definitely confused. I've heard both.

It is Flores interpretation But, it is also the troubled area of Flores has since testified he errored "I'm not medical"
so if the goal is to formally list his wounds, I'd use the ME's report to count them.

Total noob here... While waiting to be allowed to post I am going to try to collect my thoughts,

First off, I do believe that Jodi was doing a 'photo shoot', getting Travis into a vulnerable position. The photos are not good because that was not her intent and her mind was on the weapons and her plan. She was probably talking almost constantly: "That's good, honey, hold it right there. Okay, turn and face the back wall so I can get your back. These are gonna be great... will really show how much weight you have lost and how buff you are." As he's sitting in the shower: "Okay, lean your head back and close your eyes; imagine you are on a lovely beach..." and now his chest is exposed and she goes in for the kill. Once she has begun, her rage spills over and she starts yelling at him and sobbing out her pain and humiliation, stabbing him again and again.

Jodi states that she paused between shots so they could review each photo and erase those that they didn't like. This seems absurd - there is not time enough between shots and most of the pictures we see are not keepers, especially for someone who considers herself a photographer.

The camera expert showed how easily the shutter button could be pressed and stated that the camera was upside down on the floor when the last two pictures were taken. The camera was likely knocked down the hall during the struggle; there was no timer and no remote used.

Regarding Jodi's laughter during cross by Martinez last Thursday, I haven't seen any comment on the significance of this event. Martinez is brilliant; his whispering 'stunt' broke through her steely determination to disclose nothing of herself: she lost control! I expected this crack in her armor would result from anger. Hahaha, what a delightful surprise; Juan cracked her with a feather, not a hammer...

In my opinion, Travis likely was a virgin when he met Jodi. When she wanted to have sex and he resisted, she said that oral sex wasn't really sexual intercourse and talked him into it. Same with anal sex. She is the one who was into that. When Darryl was asked if he and Jodi had had anal sex twice he said 'maybe once' - said it with obvious distaste, it seemed to me. I think Travis was like putty in her hands and, having gone through his sexual prime denying himself the natural pleasures of the flesh, all his pent-up desires left him with no resistance to her manipulations.

It is a great tragedy that so many people give over their moral judgement and control to outside forces such as churches. The more people you allow to come between yourself and your god, the more fucked up you will be. Autonomy is the greatest gift...

Also, regarding the pictures on her My Space page, in the pictures of Jodi and Travis together he has his head tilted AWAY from her in all but one. There is no love light in his eyes...

Bermstalker - thank you for the recaps. Justice11 - I love your diary entries. Cindy Simmons - Thank you for your wonderful first post; you gave me the courage to try...

I don't think you should be allowed to be in a jury of a murder 1 trial if you are anti DP. Period. This case being a good example. Overwhelming evidence of guilt across the board. Tax payers should not have to pay that POS room and board the rest of her life.

Thanks! I couldn't see a date, only yrs ago type thing.

IMO, JM effed up on this part. HE misunderstood out of focusing narrowly with you lie lie lie tactic. If his only goal was to show JA can't admit her own words, then I guess he accomplished that much, but the 'fact' if brought out on cross is damage to his credibility since he did make it such a big deal. But on the plus side, he did get in that JA said he hadn''t shaved that day when the last alive pic she admits he had by then.

He is a 'theory" guy. His past trials same thing. That can be good but it can't cover everything. He has inferred a lot that thus far that sounds great to us that know a lot more than the jury. But, if you really think about it, he hasn't backed many of those inferences in the end. JA is a liar, 10,000 does not get people convicted like we think. Ugh the horrible liar CA is one example.

I don't recall any. Could be a side bar issue and denied. I think there is some kind of loop hole like it only happens if Nurmi brings out something new and then Juan would get a chance to address that part only.

Has the murder of Bobby Juarez been discussed? This fella looks a lot like the guy in her myspace pic. She did mention wanting to go to San Diego on her road trip. Hope I can post this link correctly, being a newbie and all... http://mydeathspace.com/vb/images/sm.../Undecided.gif

I believe Bobbie is the one with the red shirt. I think her name order is wrong. If you go to this link, the Robert Juarez who was killed looks a LOT like the guy in red.http://www.everythingsandiego.net/47...g-information/

He was murdered July 10th, 2008

    well, there is this...

death penalty cases often take 15 years or more to exhaust the costly appeals process. on top of the cost of the court proceedings, you have to house them in a higher security facility, bringing the cost to house death row inmates quite a bit more expensive than a LWOP inmate.

ok, I'm throwing what I have out here. Got some interesting stuff I'd like to post. If this has already been discussed, I apologize profusely! Don't want to be a thread hog!

    Juror observations-
"I, for notetaking ease, assigned a letter to each juror right away and made a chart so I could easily identify in my notes. Also my age estimates are just that, my own estimation. Also any description I give means nothing more then what I saw. I also realized when I got home, that Except for A, J, and H, though I remember the others, I can not say who was what. A and J were definately white men, and H appeared to be Native American.
Back to front, left to right. (I do not know if they maintain the same order each day, though I think they might) and this is how I will refer to them. Also there were some jurors that I could not see most of the time. I will identify which ones. When I saw All Jurors, it is all that I had a view of at that time. Some jurors I only saw when people in front of me shifted etc, so what I write is not implying thats the only time they were attentive.
    A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I
    J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R
All - Pay close attention when mugshot testimony and 48 hours explanation. Seem to be listening closely on the incident of Jodi being in Tavis' house and falling asleep on his "lovesack" while he out with Mimi. They as a group seem unhappy with Nurmi's outbust around this time. A few watch Nurmi closely as he inspects the dvd evidence, look agitated.
Front row (most of them) are tracking back and forth between Jodi and Juan when the testimony is about her moving to AZ. Looks almost as if they are watching a ping pong game, for at least a couple of minutes. Many of them are leaning forward and most are writing.
"A" is a Male, 50ish baldingLooked puzzled when Juan was mentioning the sex tape. Kept glancing at Jodi's family during the FHE discussion.Writing a lot when Mugshot/48 hours explantion. Writing a lot during the whole "innocent of THAT charge" testimony.
"B" is a Female - 30ish -I could not see her very often.Nodding and writing when Juan got Jodi to admit it was her who got in trouble and ultimately her fault that she got grounded.
"C" is a Female - 30ish - I could not see her very oftenI noticed her flipping a page when Jodi agreed it was her fault she got grounded.
"D" is a Male - 50ish I could not see him after he sat down
"E" is a Male - 40's T-shirt with a green cordaroy or flannel shirt/jacket over that, glasses - my opinion 3rd most attentive Juror.Paid close attention Tracking Juan and Jodi, along with most of the front row, when testimony about why she moved to AZ, was leaning forward and taking notes. Paying close attention when testimony of Jodi leaving school as a junior and moving in with Bobby, and also when testimony about her moving around a lot. Looked to be listening and writing during most of the trial.
"F" is a Male - high 20's ? Low 30's? Flannel Checkered shirt, stubble I only saw him when lady in front of me kinda scooted overWatching intently when talking aout how Jodi pursued Bobby, when she called him and he hung up and she called back. Shook head when Jodi said it could have been a phone malfunction. Flipped pages twice while writing in his notebook during this time.
"G" is a Male - 40's Veiw blocked after he sat down
"H" is a Male - 25 ish? Long black hair, braided or pony tail . Looked Native American by the hair. (The hair reminded me of someone I know, that is why I say that. ) I could only see his body and arms most of the time, not his face. Leaned forward alot off and on the whole time, writing most of the time.
"I" is a Female - upper 20's - out of view after sitting down
"J" is a Male - 50ish, long silver pony tail, jeans -To me seemed to be the 2nd most attentive juror overall. Writing when testimony about how Matt wouldn't betray her. Paying close attention.Paying close attention and writing when talking of sex jodi didn't mind.Paying close attention on the mugshot/48 hours testimony, writing. When Jodi said she didn't see Travis and the woman through a sliding glass door, but it was a window, this juror started flipping back in his notebook as if looking for something he wrote before. Was slightly shaking his head in a "no" reaction.Writing alot, turning pages a lot all throughout.
"K" is a Male - 40ishwriting a lot when the "pursuing Bobby" and why she moved to MesaInterestingly I have little written about him, though I remember having a good line of site.
"L" is a Male - older 20's ? younger 30's maybe.Put hand over his mouth when "why she moved to Mesa" testimony and about grandma. Looked almost frightened at the "stalking " Bobby and Travis things. Leaning forward and writing during most things about her pursuing different guys, after she was broken up with them. Also had what I could only call a "are you sh*tting me" look when Jodi said that about she hadn't looked in a sliding door, it was a window.
"M" is a female- 40ishOnly thing I wrote about her is she leaned forward during the testimony of why Jodi moved to Arizona, and was writing at this time. I also saw her most of the time, but don't have anything else written.
"N" is a female - 25 or 30 ish? two toned hair, light blonde on top, brown under the blonde. This is who I belived to be the most attentive Juror. Watched Jodi intently when she was talking about what sex she liked.Shook her head slightly when the mugshot came up on screen. When Jodi talked about using the BMW to drive sister missionaries, this juror was looking at her with a look that made me think of a mom who was watching a child who was lying. Almost an embarrased look with "pursed" lips and slight head shake.Tracking between Juan and Nurmi during 48 hours clips, writing a lot during Jodi's explanations. Nodding when the testimony was about Jodi falling asleep on the "lovesack" when he was out with Mimi. Nodding with a "here we go again" look on her face. I swear she almost rolled her eyes. Writing frantically.
"O" is a male - 60ish Watching Juan when talking of the whole "stalking" Bobby/Travis thingWriting and leaning forward while during the Why she moved to AZ testimony. At BMW testimony flipped a page while writing.Writing all during the 48hours/Mugshot explanation.Leaned forward when she said she was "innocent of THAT charge"
"P" is a Female - 40ishOnly time I saw her was when she leaned forward and was writing during the Why Jodi moved to AZ testimony.
"Q" is a male - 50 ish I did not see after he sat down.
"R" is a female - 60's ? short grey hair. Looks like a grandma or teacher. Closest to Jodi Leaned forward and was writing when Mug shot explanation was on 48 hours.Again leaned forward during the "Innocent of THAT charge" statement. Many people have said this is the one who seems to be agreeing with Jodi. I didn't pick up on that. She does nod a lot, but more in an "I see where this is going" kind of way. Often has a look on her face, that I can only describe as the look you wouldn't want to see on your grandma. She does look at Jodi most of the time, and writes most of the time"

I don't know. That was an evidentiary hearing. Different rules maybe?

    Love this forum

I've been lurking your forum for some time now. I have gotten so bad when I have to pick up my son from school I put my IPhone on Ustream, driving with one ear bud in. When I read the Jodi Arias Trial Questionnaire I was chuckling how many of them apply to me. It's gotten so bad friends are leaving messages on my phone asking me if everything is alright. They made the mistake of calling when the trial is live. Obviously I couldn't answer the phone much less call them back.

In the comments section of the story about Robert Juarez being killed someone mentions this (not sure if it's true, but it would be worth checking out):

    Hi Everyone!
Long time lurker from across the pond, after 2 failed attempts my log in now works yay-thank you to the lovely MDS person who replied to my emails and was ever so polite dealing with my eejit like questions! hi to everyone around the world and my fellow people in the uk (im from oop north in good ol' Yorkshire)
Proud to say i've read every post now, think the Irish one (my other half!) thinks i'm having an affair with someone
It's been great to have all the recaps and running commentary of you all, as i don't get a chance to watch or listen to whats going on. Just read the posts about the stab wounds (page 1475-ish)and i didn't realise Travis had 3 to his tummy area, i wonder when she did these? I've also noticed that the blood drops/pooling in the bathroom, especially near the bath and scales are perfect 'neat' drops and have not been disturbed by the water rinsing she did. So i'm assuming Travis walked and stayed still in this area (due to a fair size pool of blood) poor man, and also then makes me think her story doesn't add up (aside from the obvious!) due to the quickness she says everything happened to her, versus Travis' obvious staggering/running/freezing whilst being killed. Lastly, i'm always curious as to how no footprints/shoeprints were found (at least i think none were found!) so how did she do this-its always puzzled me! Anyways just realising im gabbing on like a fool so thanks in advance for your answers and i can at last now use my favourite emoticon ever..... love Gilly
