Okay...apologies if this has already been discussed. I saw Nurmi claiming JA didn't receive her lunch. I can't help but wonder if this is new or has it been going on during this whole trial. If it's new, and I am NOT blaming anyone here, but perhaps JA should stop accusing the COs at the jail of pushing her into interviews and potentially planting messages in magazines. Maybe one of them said, "Screw this bitch...." and hung on to her lunch today. Or is it JA thinks she deserves more than the bagged lunch that's typically provided for prisoners? Just a thought...or two. Hope everyone is having a great night!!!

Whew! Someone on WS said she only missed lunch today and yesterday.
Interesting. I wonder what was so different about the past couple of days.

Without being able to interview her, it's hard. She would be a great case study. Though to me everything we are seeing is about getting out from under the DP. She definitely has authority issues. I am guessing her lawyers gave her the line of your tone, your posture and your anger scramble my brain.

Here's what I thought of today:

    AM Session:

    - I feel that JM did a good job of showing that Jodi has a history of confrontation and has never been afraid of approaching people. Also showed a pattern of violating personal privacy in past relationships
    - The LONG OVERDRAWN argument about semantics was not good for EITHER of them - 1. If made Jodi look completely uncooperative, frustrating and that she was intentionally averting testifying correctly. 2. It didn't look great for JM - he drew it out for too long and should have made the point that she wasn't cooperating, making excuses and then moved on.

    PM Session:

    - Suddenly Jodi was much more willing to answer JM, did her counsel say something to her? Or is she giving in a bit
    - Jodi admits she was JUST as interested and appreciative of all the sex with Travis - also that she was as much of an instigator as he was if not more (this is rather important as she spent 9 days trying to make it seem like he was always pushing her and made her feel dirty. She completely showed today that that was untrue - I think this was a huge "oops" for her and her defense)
    - Despite his imperfections, Travis was overall a good person. Sounds like he was, in general, very kind to her (I thought the Cinnabon thing was very thoughtful) and that he was a very generous and giving person. Those 48 hour films sure show a VERY different demeanor and a very positive aspect to Travis.
    - Even prisoners deserve three full meals per day - especially when they haven't technically been proven guilty yet. I have no love for Jodi, but just give the girl some PB&J and get her back on the stand!!!

These are what I got from watching the trial (the actual trial, not biased reporters on stations like...I dunno, CNN perhaps!).

Hence the migraine to get out of testimony. but that B will never kill herself.

Personally I get a migraine I'm hanging out over the toilet and I'm pale as a ghost. But I'm guessing she missed dinner last night, hence the 4:30 drop dead time.

I know lots of people hate him, and that's fine. But, I really doubt he is treating Jodi any differently than he treats all of the other prisoners.
Yes, she should get a lunch. Who knows the real reasons she hasn't been. But, we are talking about a missed lunch. It's not like she's being water boarded every day. Jodi believes she is special and should be treated accordingly. Eff her. Travis will never enjoy a meal ever again. She needs to quit being a frigging drama queen.

(I realize this is an unreasonable stand point, but at the moment I am speaking from emotions....not logic. I'm just sick of everything about Jodi at the moment.)

    I'll post one later. :)

    That's a good point.

    Welcome!

    Welcome!
I agree, wasn't she actually getting some special treatment for being his Prison Idol winner? Heck, he threw a fit because she was left alone in court or something, when she was supposed to be watched by deputies, like other prisoners. I don't remember the exact issue, but I do remember the Sheriff's dept. actually showed up in court to address the judge about it.

Frankly, since the "I don't remember" and trying to drive Martinez off in wild directions isn't work, I wouldn't be surprised if she is faking the migraines. Who could prove that one way or the other? Or, perhaps she is purposely not eating at lunch, so that she can try to appear weak and maybe conjure up that "shaky chihuahua" persona, not through fear but the shakes from not eating?

That case makes me so freakin' angry. One of the jurors admitted that he had already decided Ryan was guilty before he ever took the stand.

According to the article, the judge can order it, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen, and it's against the law for anyone else to provide her lunch. So I don't know where this other info is coming from (aside from WS).

I'm starting to think she could be on the stand through at least half of March if not longer. this is now her 4th week on the stand. I know this is one of the longest times for witnesses to take the stand, right?

I know I've wanted to respond many times over the past few weeks, but the pages were old, and there wasn't much use in it. You all are doing an amazing job of keeping me up to date on the trial, mirroring a lot of my own impressions of what's going on in the courtroom. I am also watching daily on Azfamily. I can appreciate the intelligence here (which is more than I can say for most of the people over on Insession's Facebook page, who drive me crazy!).

Anyhoo, my name is Sarah. I go by Cricket as a nickname. I am a Michigander who was a paralegal for many years. I am now retired or on sabbatical, whatever you want to call it - lol. I became interested in this case years ago when it happened. It was a horrific, brutal murder and, after watching the 48 Hours episode, I was very curious about Jodi's story. Of course we now know it was untrue, but back then, it appeared believable to me...mainly because she told the story so convincingly.

There are people on here who believe Jodi may be borderline. I actually have a borderline in my life...my own sister...she has also been diagnosed as bipolar 1. My relationship and experience with her has given me some insight into some of Jodi's mannerisms and interactions with Travis and others, as well as her posture on the stand. My sister and Jodi are a lot alike, although I don't believe Jodi has bipolar. I am not an expert by any means, and realize Jodi has never been diagnosed with anything. I just see some of the same behavior in her that I've seen in my sister over the years.

Okay, sorry if this is long-winded. I look forward to chatting with everyone. :)
    Hi Sarah!! Welcome!

The Ryan Ferguson case is a shame. It's so obvious that he is innocent and they have a vendetta for that poor kid. That's a case where the Prosecution side is the one in the wrong.

IDK but she was irritated because Dr. Drew wouldn't let her finish her story.

ETA - she's back now and saying that some other woman besides Mimi was supposed to go to Cancun with Travis?

If I was on the jury, I would highlight every single time Jodi said, "I don't remember" on both direct and cross examination.

I'd love to see how lopsided those two totals would be...

If it's true that prisons who are in court are not fed between 4am and 6pm, that is wrong.

I would guess that it's some cost-saving measurement as Sheriff Joe is famous for. It's obviously a lot easier to feed prisoners in jail where they all get the same food, whereas they would have to make special meals for those who are in court during the day. But, couldn't they provide a PB or cheese sandwich? Perhaps they could offer the inmates the option of a bag lunch for court, for 50 cents or something of the sort?
