Obviously it's not a dead body but it's also a lot heavier than a man would be. This was my first time ever even trying something like this, too, so it's not like I practice or anything. Jodi Arias brought it all in on direct examination--in endless and excruciating detail--gently led by Mr. Nurmi. It was brought in in the context of putting wings on the abused woman syndrome. Defense wants to show that she left abusive home for another abusive situation--she claims Bobby betrayed her--and it goes on and on from there, betrayal after betrayal, blah blah, which morphed her into the stereotypical abused woman who was unable to escape her abuser and her 'killing' of Travis was the reaction to her lifetime of victimhood. Wait 'till she calls her abuse experts in. We'll be able to understand the strategy a bit better, I think.

JM caught another lie. She testified on direct that she was working at her father's restaurant when the old guy told her that he world was going to end on Sept. 23. 1997.
On cross JM asked her where she was working on Sept. 23, 1997. She wasn't sure where she was working and the date didn't ring any bells for her.

If Jodi had an accomplice, she still likely inflicted most, if not all of the wounds. The fact that he was stabbed 29 times and had his throat slit show extreme emotion. Someone who had never met Travis would not experience that kind of rage during the murder. A few stabs - yes, slit throat - sure, shot - maybe...but not all of them together plus 20 something more stabs.

Why can she be the only person THAT mad at Travis? She doesn't even seem like an angry person to me.

Why is it an "Objection, argumentative. Approach." for the prosecutor to question the defendant about stabbing the victim in the chest?

Can't the prosecutor question the defendant directly about the the crime she's accused of???

It was the manner in which he questioned her. "If that nick hurt you, can you IMAGINE how it hurt Travis when you stabbed him in the chest". His demeanor was incredulous and his face looked quite angry. Seems like in the old days it was called badgering.
