Jodi Arias telephone call to Bobby Juarez, "Vampire Boy" (circa 1997)

JODI ARIAS: Hi Bobby. Some awful news Ken just gave me. Ken is that nice old man with the Bible that comes to the Purple Plum where I work, or Uhm, maybe Grandma's House. Anyways he was reading his bible with his pancakes and he dripped some syrup on one of the dog-eared pages and when he went to wipe it off, he read the spot where the blob of syrup landed and maybe there was some butter mixed in with too and, Uhm, when he went to wipe it off he read the passage and he got a revelation and he jumped up and shouted, "The world is coming to an end at midnight Wednesday" and Uhm I thought I had to let you know that there isn't much time 'cause today is Tuesday, and you should prepare to save your immortal soul before that because I believe what Ken said; the world will end at midnight, Uhm, but that will be 10 p.m. in Chicago and 9 p.m. in New York and 8;30 in Newfoundland and, Uhm, I think 2:30 Greenwich Mean Time, (that's London England a place I really want to see but I probably won't get there before Armageddon so maybe I'll date one of those Hot Palace Guards in paradise), and, Uhm, it'll be 12 noon in Paris cause noon is neither a.m. nor p.m. but those French People should be really worried and maybe go to lunch early and, Uhm, I'm not sure the Spaniards will have a chance to grab their Siesta that day, and, Uhm, well you know what my intentions are, I, Uhh am just so concerned about saving your eternal soul and, Uhmm..well you know I love you even though we're not in a relationship any longer but I know we can be friends, and if you call me back we can discuss the trust issues that came between us, and Uhm ...................

    BOBBY JUAREZ: CLICK!!!!!.

    Go get her Juan.

She has shared here on the thread that this case hits pretty close to home because of a family member who was murdered in a similarly brutal way. :(

I think we all need to get back on topic...myself included.

This is about Travis getting justice.
Lets hope for a really good trial day!!!
I'm all for debate, when it's actual debate, and tends to be based on facts and evidence. Calling people stupid and insane or cursing them out because they disagree with your opinion is not debate.

But yes, I agree with you, the best thing to do is focus on the whole reason that any of us are here, wanting to see justice done for a man who was brutally, heartlessly, murdered.

Needless to say I wasn't referring to you and your opinion, Justice!

I really hate not being able to edit. And unfortunately I can't rep you again till I engage in more whoredom. :(

I signed up to this board (although I am an avid reader!) just to see what you guys think of this thought I had....

It is a little hard to explain, but...Do you know how your brain fills in missing words or corrects words that are not written correctly when you read something? Well, Thursday, when JM had Jodi read the 'secret messages', she did exactly that! I saw her read this a couple times, showing my family this amazing turn of events, and didn't catch it. When I did, I kinda screamed out loud! LOL! When she was reading the line "You ***** up. What you told my Attorney the next day" she changed the word "next" to "other", and then quickly corrected herself. "What you told my Attorney the *other* day" is exactly what she had meant to write, and ONLY she would have corrected that word in her mind. Anyone else would read that fragment of a sentence just as it was written because they don't know what the string of words is supposed to mean yet. Does that make sense? Did anyone else notice this?

You can see her read it here, around 13:30
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ALPm...B8eRLw&index=5

I just thought it was mind boggling to hear her read "What you told my attorney's the other...next day" because, to me, it makes it totally clear that she was the writer of these messages, although we already know that she is. Hope JM caught that and calls her on it....!

Obviously it's the forgeries supporting the pedo allegations and Nurmi doesn't want Matt to be able to be questioned on them by Juan Martinez. Another attempt at concealment by the defense. Nurmi and Wilmott should submit these written on Pampers. It's called a cover-your-ass motion. It's a attempt by the defense.

Are those maybe the so-called pedo-letters or whatever she claimed Travis wrote, that were proven to be forged? I think that could be it, since Matt McCartney is rumored to have been the forger and his name was brought up recently.

On a side note, that whole end of the world thing is just so bizarre. I just don't get what the purpose of it was. Was there really an old man? Was she just being crazy? Was it a reason to try and get in touch with an ex?

I mean really, what kind of reaction would you have if an ex called you up, multiple times, to warn you that the world was coming to an end? Personally, I'd think that someone was cuckoo for coco puffs.

    I have a question:

Why is it an "Objection, argumentative. Approach." for the prosecutor to question the defendant about stabbing the victim in the chest?

Can't the prosecutor question the defendant directly about the the crime she's accused of???

I don't see what legal grounds they could have for wanting them left out. It was an obvious attempt to slander a dead man

Not sure, last time the state won a motion to exclude the forgeries so those were already Ordered not admissible. Nurmi was the one that wanted them in then. So if they are already out, I would think this has to be something else.

I think she is a true sociopath and always been this way. She creates lies and drama all the time for her BS excuses. Exactly what Juan is pointing out too.
Travis finally caught on toward the end when we saw the text where he pretty much says aw bullchit to her.

I wonder who is making the motion. I don't know if this link works, but it seems to show the request was made by Party 001. In the docs at the top, The State is referenced as being 1.

    http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.go...=CR2008-031021

Or maybe I am just reading that wrong.

Wasn't the defense still trying to get those letters in recently, again? I can see why -- if it's the prosecution asking for them to not be entered -- because they are forged, but just putting those out there and asking Jodi about them, she's going to lie and say that Travis wrote them. I think it's possible, depending on maturity/intelligence, that some juror(s) may think that if the letters are let in, that there is some legitimacy to them, even if the prosecution says there isn't?

I could be completely wrong though.

There just doesn't seem to be a point in Martinez introducing them. He's already blown apart her pedo-accusations, why bring in more? And why confront her or McCartney when they are both just going to lie?

I really don't know the answer to this, but maybe because she "doesn't remember" the stabbings and it was pretty much glossed over in Direct? She admitted to shooting him but "was in a fog" for the stabbings apparently. Pfft...

I can't remember what the testimony was about in regards to those phone calls, I started to get bored by the end of yesterday. But, she's not the first to think the world is ending and certainly won't be the last. There's alot of paranoid people out there. I do agree though it was just an reason to badger Travis again.

Good eye. I'd imagine Martinez doesn't want them in evidence. There would be no point.

in my not professional opinion, she was just using this as an excuse to keep stringing the poor guy along. I love the part where she says they can discuss "trust issues"

From what I can tell the 001 on history just means it is this case not the party on that part of the listings. It has that on all of the motions.

I would think it was Nurmi trying to get them IN refiling like he does repeats but the motion is to EXCLUDE. Unless it is just a follow up on the PRECLUDE the State already won way back?

Kind of equal to badgering the witness, asking a question about facts already in the case, exspecting to draw an inference from the witness testifying. My gues is Juan knew that Nurmi would object but like Nurmi did a million times, they throw it out there knowing jurors don't always 'forget' that statment even though a judge 'sustains' it meaning the jury shouldn't consider it. Court room tricks pretty much.

Please please please let it be this! And please tell me Matt McCartney has decided to testify against her (since JM keeps bringing up the betrayal factor). If that's the case...she's TOAST!

Ok I'm getting too excited for something that is merely a speculation but wouldn't that be great?!

I completely agree with this. But I'd bet JM was able to get it in because that stabbings actually were in evidence based upon the autopsy photos.

JM has now proved that the event did not happen (or at least it didn't happen on the day Jodi said it did) because the evidence shows Jodi was not even around Travis that day. There is no way Travis assaulted Jodi that day-again, because Jodi was not even with Travis that day.
He is slowly taking away the "important event" days that Jodi talked about during her time on the stand with Nurmi.

Plus, if Jodi sees Travis with naked boys pictures, why in the world would she text him "You're the best"

I don't think JM has intentions of going through her childhood, but I do think he is showing her lies and her previous obsessive behaviors. He left off yesterday on Vampire Bobby. This may be important, because I believe JM is getting ready to drop something about that relationship. Could be Bobby is a rebuttal witness. IDK???

I do notice JM is skipping fast through Travis' murder day. IMO, I believe he plans on hitting Jodi with that all in one moment-with the photos and everything.
I'm in no hurry for JM to finish. When he does, that just means Nurmi will be back with his stupid "How do you feel" question for another 7 or 8 days.

That could be? Not really sure.

I would not put it past the defense now, out of desperation, to try again to get the letters admitted. After all, this is right after Martinez just proved that Jodi wrote nothing in her diary about the "pedo photos" that Travis was allegedly masturbating to. And of course his computer came up completely clean for any kind of porn at all. So, the letters are one more chance to try and paint Travis as some kind of sexual deviant. Especially since Martinez has also gotten Jodi to admit to having enjoyed sex with Travis and that she was a willing participant. And let's not forget the phone sex tape that shows that as well.

I'm no expert, but it seems to me that the defense sees their case falling apart -- no proof of Travis being abusive or deviant except the word of a habitual liar -- and they are grabbing at whatever straws they think they have left.

Jodi Arias brought it all in on direct examination--in endless and excruciating detail--gently led by Mr. Nurmi. It was brought in in the context of putting wings on the abused woman syndrome. Defense wants to show that she left abusive home for another abusive situation--she claims Bobby betrayed her--and it goes on and on from there, betrayal after betrayal, blah blah, which morphed her into the stereotypical abused woman who was unable to escape her abuser and her 'killing' of Travis was the reaction to her lifetime of victimhood. Wait 'till she calls her abuse experts in. We'll be able to understand the strategy a bit better, I think.
