Thanks for the recap, my feed kept having to buffer at all the seemingly good parts!
Anyone catch how long the lunch break will be... did I hear it would be a short one?
Even tho I think I may benefit from a longer one. That way I can recover from the concussion I think I gave myself after banging my head against the wall waiting for her to figure out seven hundred and sixty thousand different ways to say anything but a simple "yes" or "no". My goodness, I have never seen someone avoid two little words so fiercely!
Concussion aside, I am enjoying watching Juan at work. I love the fact that she is getting so tripped up, having no real control of the conversation, and (thankfully!!) no leeway to ramble on and on and on! She really cant seem to keep her stories right, can she? "I wasn't ON him, but when I got OFF of him..." I mean, she must know how bad she is coming off, right? Is she is really delusional enough to think that her bizarre non-answers are fooling anyone.
I cant believe she sent his Grandma those flowers!! Way to add even MORE insult to injury, jeez!![]()
I hope he pulls out the stabby back pictures and tells Jodi to "ma'am, can you please count off how many stab wounds are on Mr. Alexander's back"
Nurmi makes me laugh. At any minute I expect him to grab his ball and go home.
BTW- the "sparks" statement about Ryan and Jodi....I remember it very well. After she quickly told about her murdering Travis, she skipped to the part about Ryan. She specifically said that she drove there (and this is after she talked about killing Travis) to see if she had any "sparks" with Ryan. That was her exact words to Nurmi. JM is using her words. "sparks"
Did anyone catch it when Jodi said that she HOPES Matt McCartney wouldn't betray her. Could he have possibly agreed to testify for the prosecution to avoid prosecution himself? This one could be quite interesting.![]()
By the end of her cross examination, I fully expect at some point Jodi to get so mad at Juan's questions that she stands up and screamsHE DESERVED IT!!!
I caught that. I wonder if since their little plan with the magazine was caught, she doesn't know what he has been threatened with. She HOPES he doesn't turn on her, but charged with as an accessory after the fact, or whatever crime, she doesn't know if he'll continue with the plan.

She said "at that point I had hoped he wouldn't betray me" Now she is saying he already had betrayed her (cheating). I cannot understand the twists in her mind. I think she is meaning that he betrayed her after that interview (hence the 'you fucked up' secret decoder message that was supposed to be passed to him), but she is playing it off as though his betrayal was the cheating.
I am getting a little bit frustrated when he's allowing her to take control at moments - because he gets caught up arguing a point with her. I feel like the point is already been made to the jury (at least it has been with me, but I can only assume) so maybe he should move on to the next point faster since there is almost no way she is going to give answers correctly. She is going to continue to argue with him on every answer and refuse to answer Yes or No.
I think she made quite a few slips today, it seems the pressure is getting to her somewhat. Juan doesn't seem to be at his best, he should have caught that "alibi" slip, he probably did and will come back to it later, but it just seems like he's dropping the ball a bit or not quite on his A game. I would think he's reviewing her testimony and will be able to come back to things he knows he tripped her up on. The "Matt" testimony coming in is going to be good. Wonder what Jodi said to him after she called him after murdering Travis? Would love to know. Matt seems to be integral to her murder trip both before and after.
Dan Hall showing Travis with assault rifles is a bad move imo. Plus assualt rifles and hands pitsol aren't comparable at all.
JM has his work cut out for him that's for sure...
Not because she is brilliant, but because she is SO deceptive that she is even lying to herself about her own words at this point. His is asking every minute question because he needs to prove she is a liar... about everything... therefore how can anyone possibly believe her about the bigger shit, too. If he is spending this much time on the small shit, I wonder how much time he'll spend on the bigger issues (abuse, pedo, stabbing, etc)
Every time the judge overrules Nurmi, he puckers his lips like a smacked arse, always makes me laugh. Also noticed Willmott smiling when Jodi was sparing with Juan, seems she likes it when her client does that, not sure how that will play with the jury if they notice it.
It's not that bad... He is testifying that Travis didn't have weapons, abd would borrow his when they all went shooting. If you own guns, you take at least some of them when you go. If you own ONE, you would take that ONE. Instead he would borrow friends... I actually wonder if somewhere on that video it shows Travis saying he doesn't have any... now THAT would be great.
I'm starting to fear this IS the only Juan there is. He starts a point and never seems to finish it off well. He did this on CIC too. If he doesn't come back to Matt, which I believe the jurors are expecting after his lead in to it last week, he only leaves them with doubt / confusion.
who ever asked - court resumes at 130 az time. (40 minutes or so from now)
He showed the video on HLN to show that Travis was gun-knowledgeable and also discussed how he was with Travis a week before he was killed. He said that if Travis had purchased a handgun, he would have told Dave about it. His point also was that Travis would not have owned that caliber of gun either.
I'm not worried about the video or his testimony at all...
