Ah, yeah you're so right....it's not like this is interrogation day part 3, where she just has to sit there and sit there and talk...and get worn out.
I hate that she gets to have breaks. Give her a cup of water and some bread while she's on the stand, strapped in. Make her sit in that same chair all day, while everyone else is out to lunch or at recess. LOL! I'm obviously getting sleepy...and I start to get cranky, and I'm taking it out on shitbag Arias. Thank you for the prediction!
I agree. She's calculated enough to not blow up on the stand. Instead she's acting like a pissy teenager by evading questions, back chatting, smirking and sneering. Her reactions are completely telling of who she is and no jury is going to overlook the fact she doesn't actually answer most of the questions she's asked. Instead she re-directs, going off on a tangent hoping noone will realise.
"I want to believe that all jurors see through her lies, but there is likely going to be someone who puts themselves in her place -- maybe through their own abusive relationship -- and spins the reality to fit Jodi's claim. So, it's important to knock that all down upfront, imo."Amen.I just want to add that I really like this forum. It's not all touchy feely but raw truth.I'm glad I join.[QUOTE=NCBlonde;3332279]I do think that she parked elsewhere, down the block or something. As you said, Enrique would've noted that there was an unfamiliar car in the driveway when he left for work that morning, if she had parked where she normally did. As far as I know, he never mentioned the rental car in the driveway.
As for being in wet clothing and going to the laundry room, she could have brought some dry clothes back in, or maybe she had left some clothes at Travis' or she could have even went to his dresser and removed some sweats or something. I do believe she gathered her clothing up and threw it onto the car floor, leaving the "kool-aid" stains on the floor.
Interesting. I didn't think there was one. Thanks for the verification!
Prediction.
I think that she is going to continue being a snarky, smug, wiseass even though her DT has probably been telling her to cut it out. Although I love the look when she is painted in a corner. I wish there was more time for him to finish the point on "getting someone to lie for her"before the end of day. I don't like that she had the 3 days to sit and come up with a story for it. We all know she is going to spin some bullshit.
I think that Juan is going to methodically expose her lies. I know some people are kind of likebut he knows what he is doing. He knows who and what he is dealing with. I agree that the coup de grace is going to be in closing statement.
There are 123 people on death row right now. 3 are women. Looks like the one who has been there the longest is:
Steven James inmate # 046150
On November 16, 1981, Juan Maya picked up 14-year-old Marty Norton and made homosexual advances towards him. Norton rebuffed Maya, but suggested that he might find a more hospitable reception in a trailer belonging to James. When Maya followed Norton into the trailer, James, Lawrence Libberton, and Norton took turns beating him. The three then forced Maya into the back seat of his own car and drove toward Salome, where James' parents owned some property with an abandoned mine shaft on it. En route, a police officer stopped them but Libberton threatened to kill Maya if he attempted to draw the officer's attention. After arriving at the Salome property around dawn, James ordered Maya to step up to the mine shaft. As Maya pleaded for his life, James fired directly at him from a distance of less than 5 feet. Maya charged James and tried to get the gun, so Libberton and Norton began striking Maya with large rocks and a board. After Maya fell to the ground, they fired point blank at him three more times. Nothing came out of the pistol because the barrel was fouled with debris. They then dragged Maya to the mine shaft and threw him in, dropping rocks and railroad ties on top of him. Norton pled to several charges as a juvenile and testified against Libberton and James.
The website is down so I can't tell you how many are scheduled, although I posted once before and I think only 3 were executed last year and 6 the year before. I posted something about how I wish Arizona would have an express lane like Texas but got smited for it because of the innocent people who can and sometimes are executed.
RIP Travis
Just an aside...this book is really good Without Conscience by Robert Hare.

I think Jodi will spend most of her time on the stand trying to prove what she already knows.. she is smarter than Juan and everyone else in the courtroom, including her attorney's. I think they will talk to her and try to get her to mellow out and not react that she will tell them she will but then revert to her true self. I don't think she can hide it. She thinks this is all about her and that she did nothing wrong. Travis got what he deserved and she thinks that everyone in that court knows it except for Travis' family and the damn prosecutor. I think in her mind she keeps thinking.. "I'm smarter than everyone and I am sooo gonna get off. Everyone is going to believe me."
RIP Travis
Here is my 2 cents about Thursday and what's to come. don't worry, I expect some change back. JM purposely drew the line in the sand and was making her qualify her statements. He had to set the precedence that there was no bullying him or get any caudling from him. It was also the perfect opportunity to bring the testimony back home and to some sense of grounded reality in comparison to the 8 days of bullshit 'n' spice & nothing too nice. JM was looking to establish a baseline from Jodi. The jury and the world saw a side of her they never saw before and any discerning individual will clearly see what venom JM drew from her is the real jodi as the cobra's hood starts to flare. This is what travis was met with whenever he tried to make sense and reason with her. Some may think he might ease off in the week. I spoke with one of my mentors and she said it seemed like he was badgering her. But I think he is truly being selective, because he has MORE EVIDENCE that will come out. People are frustrated. JM must echo that frustration. The jury will resonate with truth. Jm is gonna bring everything sharply into focus and clear away the cobwebs which Jodi has woven and she will now be seen as entangled in her own lies. I'm gonna get my snacks, and get ready for what's to come because JM is nowhere near finished. I got a feeling some amazing evidence is gonna be shared, not to mention what we have already seen, with the fucking coded messages. Valentine's day is over, I see Spring cleaning just around the corner!
I think of it this way, if Travis was my loved one, I'd would never give up fighting for punishment of his killer no matter how many years. DP or not, loved ones suffer. It is not something that ever goes away imo. But, there are families fighting assholes paroles for years that didn't get the death penalty too. Or those that due to some technical error had their sentence changed. Our law is complicated and murder is never easily suffered by family. Some people chose to fight for their relatives loss their whole life showing up at hearings to make sure some creep stays behind bars. Some feel they need to give up and leave it behind them etc. It's never easy and every case is different.
I haven't given up on the death penalty in this case and I realize that LWOP may have to suffice. Juries are unpredictable.
Anyone have any guess how much longer the trial will last?
This. She can't stop being who she is.Prediction.
I think that she is going to continue being a snarky, smug, wiseass even though her DT has probably been telling her to cut it out.
Juan fell into too her traps with senseless over debating a few times. I think he did good over all, but there were times he gets tongue tied stuttering, mispronouncing etc like she's getting to him.
Although he is more lively than Nurmi, there were actually a few times I thought omg, so make your damn point and move on. I saw this tendency in his CIC also. But then he shocked everyone and rested so fast we'll see if he isn't all that great after all and it is just that this liar is such a bad act, she's convicting herself for the most part.
One more cut story from her. We'll have to see if Martinez is done with that topic, but I don't recall him using her own testimony to zero in on this one. If cut 'badly' at work, even giving an exact date, would't there be some formal reports of injuries in Arizona regulations or something?
cut myself downstairs before we woke up before we went to bed cut on glass. when I had pulled over in the car and there was blood on my had it had reopened wasn?t deep but bleeding a little bit.
did you formulate an excuse in Utah
ya I think I said I cut myself (she stops)
week before I had cut myself badly at work so I think I said, oh I?m a bartender I cut myself, it was actually June 1
Frankly, despite all of his experience, I really feel for Juan in this case.
This crazy bitch has spewed so much nonsense for so long that I think ANYONE would struggle to keep up with the all of the millions of details she has thrown out there.
I agree that he did get tongue-tied a few times. I found myself thinking, "juan, just slow down a bit, take a deep breath, give himself a moment to clarify his own thoughts."
But I understand that this is his style and he may not want to slow down because he needs to keep two steps ahead of her at all times.
That is something I don't understand.. how these people she is incarcerated with can believe her cock and bull story. They all held up signs saying "free Jodi." How mentally unstable they are. They must be. One look in her eyes and you can see the emptiness and cold within. She has been telling the story of his abuse to them and each one believed it. Hook, line and sinker. One has to wonder if that is for their own self preservation or if they are that stupid.
I don't ever want her to get out and hurt anyone else. I want Travis' family to find some peace that while they lost this man who was so great, kind and wonderful in their world, the person responsible will NEVER see the light of day again. This is what I pray for.
RIP Travis
Cannot believe I've finally caught up. I think the weekend helped me to say the least. Theres a picture I saw maybe 2 years ago that I was more than surprised not to see posted here. IMO, the people from MDS seem to find any and everything regarding this case. I guess this will be my input. Btw: ****NSFW****

That is my point though, I don't think it is her at all. With his decades of experience, he is used to these liars. However, if you review his cross exams these same things are there so I know it isn't her but HIS traits. I think it may be his mind is so fast, he can't slow it down and his own mouth can't keep up with his thoughts. It would be far more effective if he could. He doesn't need to be two steps ahead of her, he has the lead just by the nature of procedure, its his turn.
