So why does she need a ride? Is she actually telling the truth for once, that he sometimes took her to work? I don't know, something not fitting in with what Juan has presented on this one so far.

Yes, maybe she went through his texts that morning to see if he was talking to another woman and left it on that screen?

Just unbelievable when you break it all down. I guess however it EXACTLY went down, is irrelevant, Jodi got what she wanted out of that altercation.

On top of not being able to get the shower door closed, I think his body was blocking the drain and caused all the water to overflow back into the bathroom. I think that's why there was so much bloody water because it was washing right off his super bloody body, into the bottom of the shower and then overflowing onto the bathroom floor.

That was Othello's inner-flaw that caused his downfall. (See Tragic Figure (Hero) No. 2--A person who falls from a high place to a low place through an inner flaw). What was Travis Alexander's inner flaw?
Before anyone kicks me off this page for replying to my own post, I'm gonna stretch it a bit. It's Sunday, so I'm not cutting into the real action of the trial.

It's just because I am who I am, and remember some of what I've learned and written about in my earlier life, Jodi Ann Arias's casual reference to her and Travis Alexander's so-called planned tour in May 2008, "and maybe catch a Shakespearean Play"--Othello she said--immediately caught my ear. To me, it revealed a lot more about her character, or more certainly, lack of character, than all the other stuff she babbles on about. Now! Othello is Drama in it's highest form. A Tragedy! The little semantic game Jodi Arias plays in throwing out stuff like that, is not so much intended to disclose to others that she has a genuine interest in works of great dramatic art, but to impress upon others the high cultural plain upon which her mind resides, a level that sets her apart from other lesser beings. It validates her failed miserable existence, and justifies her abominable behavior towards others. Total, phony, sybaritic, bullshit! Just like the self-serving description 'JA Fine Photographic Art' she applies to her primitive picture-taking! Jodi Arias wasn't even an 'effen good waitress--and that's an honorable occupation.

Lemme' go on. When we go to the Theatre, or to the movies, or listen to music, or see a great painting or photograph, we experience it 'viscerally'--in our gut, if you will. It's an 'irrational' experience. That's what's supposed to happen. We go through life 'feeling' things as much or more than we go through life 'thinking' things. It's only later on that we think about it and question why it affected us the way it did and we start to rationally/intellectually analyze the elements of the work that gave us the experience. We don't 'think' a beautiful sunrise, we 'feel' it and after do we start to think about the beauty in the world. We all do it--consciously or unconsciously, but we don't do it while we are caught up in the experience--watching, looking, or listening.

To continue! Great Drama is didactic. It teaches us something (lots of stuff.) That's why it's great. The greatest teaches us about ourselves. The complex human traits and emotions that reside within us are revealed through the characters of the play and demonstrate how we relate to our world and how we can influence our world when we express them. Anger! Fear! Rage! Jealousy! Love! etc. The things we 'feel--not 'think--and we feel them by identifying with and reacting to the characters in the Drama.

Back to Othello. Among the themes are, Jealousy, Greed, Honor, etc. and we see them acted out through the characters on stage and bringing chaos and death to a world of order and love. That's some of what Othello teaches and we learn by identifying with and reacting to the characters, (fear, pity, horror, despair,) and later thinking about what brought it all about.

I can picture Jodi Ann Arias sitting in that audience with Travis watching Othello. Off all the people in that theater, immersed in the experience of the drama, Jodi Arias is one who, for sure, would not get it. Travis Alexander would get it. I am certain he would be watching the play unfold and trying to grasp what is happening. Jodi Ann Arias would be watching herself, seated in the audience, having a fine 'artistic' experience, with Travis at her side--one that she could babble about later--but otherwise she wouldn't have a clue. To that sorry, ignorant excuse for a human being, nothing is genuine. Everything is contrived, Everything is to be used for some corrupt purpose--even the lives of others.

Now, ask me what I really think.

good one bryan! I was so discounting all her lies, I hadn't thought about those times that way actually. Juan likes charts for court, I hope he does a show and tell with these photos and times. It is so much clearer for the jurors to take into deliberations with them too.

omg, I never thought of the drain plugging up, I agree. But I still think the cup and water was used by her for foot prints too, to wash the patterns out. Scene had too much blood so she had to get them smeared out somehow.

Does anybody have any idea of the dimensions of that bathroom? The reason I ask, is that it doesn't look that 'spacious' to me. Certainly not roomy enough for hefty 5'9" Travis to step out of the shower, bend over and charge Jodi Arias "like a fullback." I don't think there's room for more than one, possibly two steps. What Jodi Arias described is physically impossible in the given space. For Travis to have "charged her like a fullback" he would have had to start halfway up the hall and we know that didn't happen.

You know what I would love to see? Jodi had a tendency to write snarky text messages back to the girls Travis was communicating with. It would be so cool if JM came up with a text conversation from that morning that Jodi has admitted to using his phone.

You have to go back to the original quotes and uncheck them. I had the same problem before & it's frustrating

You've got to make sure that on your very last Quote, you don't use the Multi-Quote button. Use only the Reply with Quote Button. Then you go and enter all your comments before or after each quote you want to respond to, then post the whole thing.

I don't think Jodi would get it either. She doesn't seem to have any depth to her emotions. Her behavior comes off as contrived to me and she also stated something about being concerned at what others thought of her. She may or may not have ever seen anything Shakespearean. IMHO she likes to sound well educated and culturally sophisticated. She may have thought of saying that in the phone message because Yreka is close to Ashland, OR where they are famous for their annual Shakespeare Festival. Also, in their phone sex conversation, she could remember so many minute details about movies she's seen. It's almost like she didn't experience these things emotionally.

Let's put this myth to bed for good; I am 5'6" 118 pounds, fairly fit, so about Hodi's size, only much older. I convinced my 170 pound husband to lie limp on the floor to see if I could drag him by holding him under his arms. guess what? I could!!! It was not super easy for me (we did not wet the floor), but take off 20 yrs. and get get my adrenaline going, on a slippery floor, no problem doing what she did whatsoever. And if she had on her Puma's, she had some traction, then could remove them before walking out, thus no bloody footprints.

I also believe she could have been taking the photos without him being aware. None of those pictures would serve the purpose of showing how fit he was; they could have done that with pants on, smiling downstairs. She was just getting her shutterbug freak on. I have entered and exited the bathroom without my husband knowing, sometimes he is deep in thought in the shower, like Travis looked to be. And he even puts his arms up on the wall.

I think Hodi had packed up and left and came back with her purse and weapons. Otherwise some of her stuff would have been left there. I remember her saying her luggage was already in the car. I doubt the hole rope thing unless she brought it and the knife as a way to have the knife handy. If that's the case, she would have moved the rope to where she could easily take it.

If anyone has the page or link for Dr. Drew's juror Katie's notes on WS i would appreciate it. I broke my rule of keeping track. I was shocked to learn her sister was the one murdered by those two Germans a few years ago. She should post here, that site is too hard to navigate.

Ian, someone posted way back on the thread that pictures on her myspace indicated they had already taken that trip, she left this message on his VM after she killed him I believe. Here is a link of a picture on her myspace at Othello! There is also a photo of Crater Lake in the same series. for a high school drop out, she is rather well rounded, even though it is phoney. she seems articulate and not afraid of the camera, even though people have said she was uncomfortable in crowds.

Right. Jodi Arias thought, and still thinks, only about the impression she makes on others, including the Mormon Church and Community of Mesa, to the extent that she can utilize them to advance her own purposes. At her core, she doesn't give a f**k about what they 'think' about her: meaning she doesn't care. The fact that she could sit down and park herself at someone's kitchen table for fifteen minutes after being asked to leave their house, tells you how sensitive she is to the wishes, feelings or opinions of others. That for sure includes God despite all her incessant garble about her 'spirituality.' Just watch her her act out on the witness stand right now with her smart-alec 'ripostes' to Mr. Martinez on needless trivial points she doesn't have to win to save her own life.

The crap about the '1000 Things to See Before You Die' excursions she claims Travis Alexander and she had planned to take together over the years always served to lead into the 'Oregon Coast, Crater Lake, 'catch' a Shakespearean Play' trip she said was planned for May, 2008. That's the one she says that Travis backed out of. (I don't believe he ever agreed to it in the first place.) Nobody else has ever mentioned it.. She babbled on about it in one of her TV interviews, again while being questioned by Flores and again in her direct testimony. She used her usual semantic tricks to imply that Travis's regret over missing that trip, was one of the reasons he had eagerly agreed to a make-up visit to him in Mesa when she 'impulsively' called Travis as she was driving from Pasadena to Salt Lake City to keep her date with Ryan Burns. She tries to make it sound as though she was doing something Travis wanted to do as much as she did--sorta demonstrating their togetherness, the bond that, in reality, existed only in her obsessed and scheming mind. Jodi doesn't detect the huge semantic gaps, (the difference between what the words she uses actually mean and the meanings she conveys) when she prattles on with her fabrications. It's easy it is to detect the gap but she thinks no one can. Remember! She thinks she's the smartest little girl in the room.

I was really pissed off when, at one point on Thursday, while firing back at Martinez, she referred to Travis as "Alexander"--not Travis, not Travis Alexander--just Alexander--and there was a tone of derision in her voice.

Tomorrow she continues her showdown with the Dignity of the "People of the the State of Arizona. She is preparing to match wits with the People's Prosecutor, Juan Martinez once again. Sorta like bringing a pea-shooter to a gunfight. I think she's forgotten she's in the Arizona Territories.

I know in other trials (OJ comes to mind) the court reporter would move her/hia machine over toward the bench where she/he could hear. I don't recall seeing that happen in this case however, so good question. I'm pretty sure those side bar discussions are part of official court transcripts. Are all full transcripts available to the public/media following the conclusion of cases?

Now, we'll never know if Jodi was enraged but my guess is she was in a frantic, angry, betrayed state. No matter how many times she bent over backwards for him, she was never ever ever gonna be his girlfriend. Jodi was all sorts of kinds of pissed off.
I consider myself lucky that I only had a broom at hand, I worry that in my enraged state I might've done something I had no right to do, take a life. Jodi had no right to take a life.

Until it can be clearly proven that Jodi did/didn't help, I won't rule it out. It could be. Course, I also think there might just be alien life out there and we are it's reality tv channel.
(points if you know the show I referenced.)
simpsons did it! simpsons did it! no wait! i'm wrong... it was south park.

also, i'm beginning to think i'm the only woman on earth who doesn't gain superhuman strength and speed when being attacked or enraged. does that mean there's something wrong with me?

Are you saying she took it, but she didn't take it with Travis? I think that's the case. She was probably trying to impress Travis with her connection to the 'Arts,' and probably not the first time she used it on someone. It's an old schtick for her-another way to dominate the 'relationship' (shit, I hate that word!), by implying his cultural inferiority. He obviously didn't go for it once he got to know her 'cause, in fact, Travis was highly accomplished in the circles he chose to move in while Jodi Arias was a total flop at everything. Don't forget her Palm Desert days with Darryl Brewster. She didn't describe her home buying venture as taking a liar-loan with a balloon clause and getting caught like every other person who was suckered in. Oh no! She described that whole sorry episode as her becoming a 'Real Estate Investor' who was 'victimized' by an unscrupulous mortgage broker. Sounds more classy! There's that good old Semantic Gap again!

I don't wanna insult anybody. Everyone has a right to appreciate things on their own level. Sometimes it's hard for me to hold my tongue with the sybaritic phonies who demonstrate such contempt for others--like the subject at hand.

Remember, great art, great music, great literature, great drama, etc. was not created during periods in history when only a few were doing it. To the contrary, it was created during times when everybody was 'effin doing it. History told us what the good stuff is 'cause it's still here. The crap has disappeared. So I ain't much for anybody putting on airs of excellence and demonstrating superior artistic insight or 'taste' over others. We'll know what's good in a couple of hundred years and unless you can read the future, nobody knows anymore than anybody else. I know a little bit about the past but it's there for anyone who wants to spend the time learning about it.

    That's enough!
