the biggest thing that stands out to me today is that jodi likened advocate martinez's behavior to travis'. if that is the case, she should be showing some signs of trauma when dealing with him but instead is acting like a cocky bitch.

she shows no signs of being a battered, abused woman. none. totally different person than yesterday. she's doing herself bad.

Simply put, Martinez must appeal to the jury in the most effective way. Likability is a part of that, just as in a presidential election. After all this testimony, 12 amateurs go in a room and decide what has been proven (or not) beyond a reasonable doubt. If they "like" Martinez they are more likely to vote his way.

I know what you mean but, If I were on that jury I'd want to see the prosecutor be an advocate for Travis and I would want to see him pounce on her ass in every way and not be lenient when speaking to her, at all. I believe that Martinez has to be somewhat aggressive in his handling of Jodi. As Harlette said, Jodi tried to damage Travis in every way possible, dragging him through the mud. Martinez needs to correct that and show that it was Jodi that was the evil, lying one.

If he doesn't? Well, we don't know what the jury was thinking after Jodi's testimony for the defense. Some of them may have believed her a little bit and/or feel sorry for her. Martinez needs to show she is not a victim and Travis was not a sexual deviant/abuser/pedo.


One of Dr. Drew's "jurors" just said the jury seemed to find Martinez likable. "Jurors" also said there is a 30-something woman on the actual jury who seems to be connecting with Jodi, or did up until today. Hopefully she's not under Jodi's spell and today snapped her head on straight.

I'm noticing how Juan brings information out and once he gets to a major point he then just veers off away from it, not requiring her to respond, or better yet, not giving her a chance to respond. A good example is the magazine. He never actually asked her if she wrote the notes in there. He merely got her to talk about how the magazine was given to the other person at jail and many other details, but once he had her read it aloud, he shifted slightly away from that. Same thing when he got her to admit she doesn't ski, but wrote skiing in her journal.

I think he is creating all these vignettes and forcing her to answer about every detail, knowing she will try to shape-shift her way through the answers, but on the big points, he doesn't ask for any input from her. He lets all the small details speak for themselves.

This is really smart because there is no way to get her to openly admit to anything wrong she has actually done.
