My opinions are in the context of proving first degree murder. She is guilty and she will go to jail. We know that.

A. Nurmi = worst nightmare client ever against rock solid proof of murder. Defending a serial lying psycho against her own crazy self. His strategy was to humanize her, paint Travis as a doucebag user, and save Jodi's life.

B. Martinez = incredibly strong evidence and 5 years to prepare. Bloody palmprint. Confession. Lies told on TV. He will never get a better case.

I think Nurmi's strategy has been more tailored to the situation. He accomplished his goals despite his crazy-ass client going off the reservation at top speed. But JM is just doing what JM does, go insanse on a defendant... not tailored to the needs of the case and what the jury needs to convict of 1st degree murder. What will the jury respon to? She will not be sentenced to death and therefore I give Nurmi the win.

Ok, I see where you're coming from now. Of course that's what was Nurmi was doing, I've stated that before. My point was he had 7 days with her, JM's had a few hours. He's crossing on the 'mundane' evidence of the past 7 days, taking care of all of the inconsistencies/lies He's hardly going to go straight to the in-your-face evidence. I agree she won't get the DP, but I think that would be the case irrespective of who the defence, or prosecutor for that matter, was.

And, I DO believe Jodi has mental problems that Travis exploited. And I won't apologize for seeing his eye-rolling, smirking sister for FINALLY crying yesterday. She's NEVER had a problem eye-rolling, smirking and discounting one single FUCKING thing her brother did to Jodi.

I could go all philosophical and metaphysical here, but not worth my time.

My last comment on this 'cause it's getting out of line. You gave yourself away right there, you can't like sex and hate men? Look, I couldn't give a toss about whether you love/hate men. But for some reason you do hate Travis. That's your prerogative. But you don't know jack shit what Travis' family thought or felt about his relationship with her, from what I've read it was negative. .... Wait a minute his sister FINALLY cried? Man, you're an angry woman. Wonder what you'd do/feel if that were you sitting there listening to your brother's brutal murderer? Assuming you loved your brother that is.

It is not necessarily his fault for Jodi is being difficult, but I agree. His approach seems a bit off. There has been a few minutes where he appears to be heading towards an "Aha" moment, but it just kind of fizzles out. And Jodi is really nitpicky, and he is making little mistakes in his statements that Jodi keeps correcting him on which is congesting the flow.

I love his quick flow, but he does need to reign himself in a little and remind himself he's dealing with a couple of Jodi's on that stand. He's surely come across her kind before. I was waiting on an accusation of outright lying with the texts, but no. Frustrating as hell. As are the constant objections.
