Some people have this misguided (nicest word I can think of) idea that men are always in control, always the aggressors and so always responsible.

This was clearly a 2-way street. It was a toxic relationship for both Jodi and Travis. Travis should've been more committed in getting Jodi out of his life and keeping it that way. But Jodi was constantly coming back for more.

There's no way to really know if Travis had really put his foot down and said "it's over", or even if he had gotten a restraining order or something, that it would've stopped Jodi though. She was living 1,000 miles away at the time, and yet she still drove all the way to his place in order to murder him. I'm not sure there's any way he could've kept her away from him, unless she was locked up or focused her obsession on a new man.

I absolutely agree that Travis wasn't completely innocent in all of this. He knew that she was mental and used her. I think he might have not realized the gravity of the situation that she wasn't just "psycho" but she was literally psycho. Nobody expects to get killed by a friend with benefits or a fuck buddy.
