Yep, we are supposed to feel sorry for poor little Jodi who just HAD to kill mean, mean, Travis. He obviously deserved what he got. SMH.
-I noticed Jodi's attempt at convincing us she is crying and upset really picked up after lunch. I wonder if someone on the defense team had a talk with her and told her she is going to have to put more effort into selling it.
-Jodi first said that she got the gun as part of her plan to commit suicide. Now she is saying that the idea of shooting herself didn't occur to her until after she had the gun. Huh?
-Jodi said there were several other reasons for her to get the gun. One is because she wanted to be a responsible gun owner. The second is because she now has a fear of men. She just doesn't feel safe around them anymore. I think her saying this was another big oopsie.
-She is going to pan for gold on a camping trip with a bunch of men. Really Jodi, really? All the while you are feeling so despondent and suicidal? Oh well, let's go camping guys!! I may shoot all of you, but hey, it'll be fun pretending we are gold prospectors!
I'm sure she was lining up her next target. She seemed to try and upgrade her life/lifestyle by moving from man-to-man. She thought she had it with Darryl, but he wasn't going to marry her and so she wasn't going to have the lifestyle she thought she deserved. She set her sights on Travis because he had a fancy car and a nice house and was making good money, and he could take her on all those trips she wanted.
-Jodi actually implied that Travis visited her from the great beyond and let her know that he forgives her. Well heck Jodi, why didn't you just say that in the first place. If Travis' ghost forgives you for murdering him, then I guess we all should. (This is so going in the Dear Diary entry for today.)
Oh absolutely. No doubt Travis' Ghost knew he deserved to be killed because he was oh-so-horrible to Jodi. Cased closed, let her go!
-Did Jodi forgive herself for murdering Travis? I can't even. Nurmi is actually asking this as if it were actual evidence to be considered. I have no words.
She didn't and doesn't have to forgive herself because she doesn't think she did anything wrong. She only cares that she got caught. In her twisted mind, because Travis wasn't going to marry her and give her the life she thought she deserved, he was clearly evil and deserved to die.
-Yesterday Jodi said Travis was like an "earthquake", today he is like a "volcano"...what's next Miss Meteorologist?? A tornado, a tsunami, a flood??
-Jodi said if she had handled the gun "properly" then maybe Travis wouldn't have gotten so angry. Yeah Jodi. That was the problem. Your gun handling skills. GTFO
Yeah. I think if Travis had the time to get angry, it was probably more likely because she had shot him in the face. Things like that tend to piss people off.
-Jodi said that almost every night she had "outbursts of emotion." Why? Because it was at night that she used to get calls from Travis. He was nice to her in these calls. And now her phone won't ring anymore. boo-fricken-hoo. Everything is about JODI! She didn't cry every night because Travis had died a painful and tortuous death. She cried because she would miss their late night chats. Wow...just, wow.
Poor Jodi. No one to pay her compliments. No one to make her feel desirable. No one to spend money on her and take her on trips.
-Jodi talks about the "law of attraction" and the secret and all that other hoo-ha garbage. She said that is the reason she would NEVER talk bad about Travis. Hmmmm, she sure hasn't had any problem trashing Travis these last few weeks.
Jodi obviously doesn't think that trying to paint Travis as a violent abusive man, sexual deviant and pedophile is talking bad about him.
-Jodi said that in her interviews with Flores she didn't know she could just be quiet. That an "attorney" had told her to just deny everything. I seriously doubt an attorney would tell her it was okay to talk to the police as long as she just denied everything. But then again...she might have heard this from a PPL attorney, so who knows?
Yep. The first thing any competent attorney is going to do is to tell her to say nothing to police. She wanted to to have a little tete-a-tete with police. She thought that she was smarter than they were. She wanted to know what they had on her and she thought she could talk her way out of it. And she was disgusting enough to want to see pictures of her handiwork. I'm sure Jodi is the type of girl who thought she could talk or flirt her way out of anything, and of course playing the poor, helpless little girl. I can't imagine why Flores wasn't so charmed by Jodi that he wouldn't let her walk scot-free.
-Notice how she slipped in there that Flores was a Mormon. I think she is hoping that if anyone holds anything against her for being a Mormon they will hold it against Flores too. Maybe not...I just felt like she really wanted to "out" him for being a Mormon.
Maybe she thought if the detective was a Mormon, that he would pass judgment on Travis for his sexual escapades and look down on Travis? Yes Jodi, I'm sure the police will take your side and agree that Travis had it coming because he had sex outside of marriage.
-Jodi said she felt like she had "no future" and that there was no point in airing Travis' flaws and bringing him down. Well, she is literally on trial for a murder she admitted to and is facing the possibility of a death sentence. But now she feels, what, "hopeful" for her future? Now it is okay to trash Travis' reputation? Her lies make NO sense. The truth is she felt there was no reason to air her own dirty laundry, but now that it is all out there, she is wanting to bring Travis down even harder.
And it backfired on her. She made herself look way worse than Travis. And she's not going to sell the poor little victim act. If she and her attorneys were smart, they would've played the "I can't remember what happened" card early on and tried to get her committed to a mental hospital instead.
-She was going to commit suicide by taking Advil -over several days- and then cut her wrists and bleed out. But, after a paper cut like nick with the razor blade, "it stung so badly" that she just couldn't go through with it. I can't even believe the words coming out of her mouth. After the 27 stabs and the throat slashing she gave to Travis, she is talking about the "pain" from a paper cut???? I don't even know what to say to that. Unbelievable.
-At one point Jodi said there was "no malice" in their sex life. Or something along those lines. I think she slips up and accidentally says a few things that are truthful. This one really stuck out to me. Considering a big part of her defense is that Travis is a sexual deviant who rapes her and lusts after little kids to the point that she dresses up like a child to help him with his urges, this just defies all logic.
-I'll jump to the ending because at this point I was in my car. It seemed that Nurmi wanted her to say that she admitted the truth about what "she remembered" happening that day and about Travis beating her and being a sexual defiant. Martinez objected and Nurmi had to ask again. All I remember is Jodi saying she confessed and Nurmi saying he didn't have anymore questions. Usually when Jodi doesn't answer a question exactly the way Nurmi wants her to, he will ask her 5,000 different way until she finally says what he wants. It was odd the way he closed. I kind of felt like he was just throwing his hands up and saying, "eff Jodi, if you can't get it right, I'm sick of forcing it out of you."
-I can't wait until tomorrow. I will be saying some prayers for Martinez tonight!
