Answer: She owed him $6,000.00. I think we can accept as true that Travis was being pressed to meet his financial obligations. He had a mortgage to pay; he had just purchased a new Prius, (probably financed); and, admitted that he was struggling to 'save his house.' He further stated in some of his e-mails that knowing Jodi 'was the worst year of my life.' He had been overly generous in giving Jodi Arias his BMW on very easy terms that was worth at least $4,500.00 cash and she had promptly wrecked it and destroyed its value. He had allowed his business to run down while trying to maintain his normal social and business life and, at the same time, deal with Jodi Arias's relentless intrusions. I suppose he had enough hubris, (what young man doesn't?) that he thought he could handle everything but, at the end, when he told her to just leave him alone he was almost at the breaking point. However, Travis still hung onto that vain hope of getting the $6,000.00 Jodi owed him. So he continued to maintain contact with her, to find ways to be nice to her, (while holding his nose), and to put up with her craziness. That was all the opening she needed to stay in his life 'till she finally took it from him.

So we've already determined that she hacked his email, would read his text messages, and hack his phone/bank accounts etc. Who's to say she didn't send this "text message" to herself from Travis' phone when she had it in her possession?? If you look at the next text, it says "Wow, is that a painting or photograph?" Uhhhh, whaaa? That has NOTHING to do with what "he" was allegedly saying. I'm thinking she texted this herself to her own phone, deleted it from Travis' "sent" messages, and he was none the wiser.

Agree, Mr Manipulator will drag it out tactic hoping the jury will ponder their nonsense fooled by his deliberate mixing out of dates and out of context.
And it is his job, some are more sleazy at it than others. I've seen it a lot. Trust me, Nurmi is just average scum, nothing great or special.

It is these common tricks why jurors FAIL to reach justice. Wear them down until they are so tired all they want is to go home. Wear them down so they rush through the evidence in deliberations not catching tricks like the one I posted. Tell the lazy and or tired jurors twisted partials and bank they are lazy and tired. After all the goal is to avoid the DP but maybe they will get lucky and pull an OJ Anthony off.

Think about it. WE have day in and day out to review and how many times do you see many don't know the case, misquote, actually think they know evidence / statements never presented etc.

Then imagine a juror, sitting through it in court day after day, and don't get 'review' time until they have had just about enough already.

I was the one who referenced it. This is what I said:

-Jodi refers to the sex later as "vanilla." That is a term that I heard for the first time during the "50 Shades of Grey" hype. I don't think that it is a regular term to describe sex unless you are the type of person who gets their freak on. (I could be completely wrong here...but I just felt like her saying "vanilla" was a bit of a slip.)

Justice, I actually think it was Ian's post that I saw, but in any case, my comment about "perverts" was supposed to be my attempt at humor. Arias totally avoids answering if Travis knew she was coming, so much so that Det Flores asked her multiple times-she later on says that yes, he knew, they talked. My thoughts....she told him she was giving him the money for 2 mths payment on the BMW and/or told him she had compromising pictures of him on the CD's and wanted to give them back to him. She had to offer him something pretty compelling for him to allow her into his home at that point and I don't believe it was simply a sexually reason.

I'd bet anything that she used the promise of money to help get Travis to agree to her visiting. It's just another one of the tools manipulators use.
