I'm not perfect...but you wont catch me calling someone out on behavior I do myself.

I do not have a religion I believe in

I have made many mistakes in my life...many of which I would love to have a do over. I'm glad no one killed me at 30yrs of age over my mistakes. Don't get me wrong...she more than murdered him.

It's silly to put Travis on a pedestal. He set some pretty high standards for people around him and he didn't hold himself accountable for his own failures. I view Travis similar to how I view any leader who does not practice what they preach. I think Travis enjoyed the notoriety and was basking in the glory. He liked his custom made shirts and expensive suits and he enjoyed the attention. He had a boatload of skeletons to hide though. Who knows how Travis may have turned out. I would like to think he would have rose past those things.

I still Think Jodi is beyond vile. She is a frightening monster of a person who mascarades as a soft spoken, demure sweet thing. She deserves no less than life without parole and the death penalty is fine by me.
every one has the right to their opinion, and i don't think he was a saint, but i do think there are extenuating circumstances here - living in a meth lab the first 10 years of his life - when 0 - 3 years old are the most important time in the development of a person, plus he had addict parents, so i bet he has addictive traits and that jodi became an addiction for him, and we don't know what kind of relationship they really had, maybe she agreed to be just a fuck buddy, thinking he would come around and finally decide he loved her and wanted to marry her - i know ppl who have done that - and if that was what they decided to be that then their convo would be right up that alley - thats why i don't make the assumption he is a total asshole

hahaha I bring up the trial at times to my boyfriend. We're long distance right now so i try not to use our time with jodi hodie. Anyways earlier i asked him if he ever heard of pop rocks being used sexually. His response was "hell no but im googling" when i told him it was from this trial, he just was like "uhm why was this in a murder trial?" Good question Jones, good question.

My big question is, how did she get the shower door open? As someone pointed out, it is closed in the picture with the surprised look, then open when you see his legs sitting down. I just don't see how she could overpower him if he saw her coming after him, it seems even if sitting he could have blocked her since he is stronger. If she shot him first, she opened the door because it is not damaged and again he would have had warning by her opening the door.

Unless she waited until he stood up and got out and was drying off, then plunged the knife into him. Either way, she beat the odds of overcoming him. She must have had the element of the surprise attack.

The fact the bullet is lying on the blood does not mean it did not get kicked or pushed off the counter, though i doubt it. I hope she tells how it went down, and the expterts can tell by her body language and eyes and tendons in her throat if she is lying.

My other 'wonder if' question is let's say this had not happened, and he married someone that was not as freaky as Hodi; would he have been able to stay away from her the rest of his life? Or would she have ruined his marriage...

Also this, since he said in the phone sex tape that she introduced him to KY, I doubt he had Ass-troglide, that is like the word Kleenex. She just didn't want the jury to think she led him into the sexual antics, making sure she mentioned he had other women. Well Lisa and Mimi already said they did not have sex. She also implied that Deanna and he had to repent. I wonder if Deanna will be called in rebuttal.

As for Gus, I think he is a lime light seeker; i googled him after he testified and saw a lot of self-aggrandizing, inlcuding his youtubes. He almost appears to be a shyster. I was not able to find anything about Mastervoice or Butler in a Box on the Smithsonian Institution sites. Though one of you super sleuths may. He didn't look as creepy on HLN, but neither does NG. She looked pretty bad (not creepy bad) in our local news when she visited the jail. They have some powerful filters at HLN.

I will be getting up my courage to attend in person before this is over. I am just afraid of the nightmares I will have afterwards.

    I don't recall anyone mentioning a remote, so... I don't know.

She was subpoenaed by the defense and told not to watch the trial, ostensibly so she could be called as a witness. I bet they never call her though.

Did nobody pay attention to what Jodi said in her testimony. It was when Jodi was deciding to get out of Mesa and move back to Yreka. She was totally ''miserable' It went something like this. "I called my mother to send me money because I was broke. My mother and I did not have a good relationship but I knew she would help me with money if I needed it." I think it was around Xmas 2007 or the beginning of 2008. Jodi finally left at the end of April, 2008. She went back to kill Travis in June, 2008. She betrayed her mother.

He is taking a shower with the door closed. She pulls the door open, he looks (surprised pic), she has a gun, she says sit your ass down, he sits.
Only takes a sec to pull a trigger.

This is going to be one of those, we'll never know the truth. She'll never tell what happened truthfully. She enjoys being the only one that knows too much.

I'm not going to check the sequence, but at some point Jodi took a full, from the waist up, picture of Travis' back. The door had to be open for that one. Shower doors are easy to open.

Another scenario when I could see both sides... I wonder if she had shot him first if the water running in the shower could have washed away any any hemorrhaging that may have occurred in his brain?

I lean towards the ME's explanation being correct (since he's much more qualified to make that determination than I am), but I don't rule out the possibility that he was shot first. If she did stab him first, it had to be 100% element of surprise...

I agree they are easy to open, thought I said as much. But I don't agree his clear door was open in the beginning. I don't see anything to confirm it was. Later there is one that diff has water spots on glass.
Seq of pics is in the slildes I made -- link is in my sig.

I am sure people drive or fly from a lot further. Southern CA is like 6 hours, not a big deal. I don't think you're crazy, just young and adventurous!! I am scared to go and I am only a half hour away!

I thought the surprised pic was the first one and the ones that followed of him were with the door open, so she shows up with a camera and snaps a pic, he's surprised, but then he agrees to let her take pics of him. Clearly he was very into the whole picture taking thing in light of the phone call we heard where he was talking about all the pics they could take and planning them out enthusiastically. At some point she leaves and comes back with the gun or knife.

The phone convo part that got me was Travis mocking a fellow mormon guy on facebook for posting a pic of him grabbing his crotch, and saying he wanted to comment on the pic "is this what your mission president taught you"? Then Jodi said I'm all for a freaky side but don't broadcast it to the whole world. It seems like they both used Mormonism as something to help them succeed in business from the connections it gave them and from the image it gave them of being clean cut and upstanding, but the morals didn't go much deeper than that. As a non-religious person I don't have a problem with it on religious grounds, just due to the sheer hypocrisy of it. He was condescending of people who were public about stuff that he did in private.

They were two fucked up puzzle pieces, one part needs constant validation and complimenting, the other half needs someone who always is sure of himself to glom on to.

I usually don't say much, but I get tired of seeing Travis being put down and called names. I agree with you wasthinking. And thank you for speaking up for Travis. I don't see standing up for Travis as putting him on a pedestal. We all know he wasn't a saint or perfect in his religiosity. Most of us know we are not perfect, but some are blind to their own hypocrisy. Many of us in this forum, his family and friends are watching his reputation and character being thrashed in ways that I am sure most of us would not want to endure. Travis was a victim, and now his loved ones are being victimized as well. It's just unbelievably tragic.

Yes, very easy to open, but takes a second or two and would give him time to see something was up...it would alert him she was there, thus removing the element of surprise - or she may have been holding him at gunpoint and reading him the riot act. I wonder where she learned to shoot? Remember she told Flores she never shot a gun, right like that was the first time.

I can't see him sitting and her stabbing first, that he could attack back on I would think. But there is no way I can buy into that brain business from the ME. He messed that up. Show me the Xray of the bullet entry, why was that never shown? That business about the menges intact tells me it didn't rupture those so how the hell did it get past the entire covering of the brain to damage the brain but leave them intact?

And I think the ME actually complicates his own statements saying can't survive the stab to heart and throat cut but the gun shot is last. Well we can see from the scene, he wasn't dead for awhile so he didn't stay down or die from any of them immediately. That trail of blood shows that much. One thing I know for sure, you can be shot or grazed in the frontal lobe and not go down. Seen it happen with my own eyes.

How about 1000% element of surprise. If she'd shot him first in the right side of his forehead, the bullet would have passed through his frontal brain lobe. He would never have had enough time or strength to make it to the sinks on the opposite wall of the bathroom or up the hallway to the bedroom. She stabbed him in the chest, he went down, she continued stabbing him on his head, he put his hands up to protect himself, tried to escape to the bedroom with her in a frenzy stabbing him back and front, his strength gave out, she dragged/led him back to the shower area, cut his throat, he went down, she shot him in the head for the two-Ninja cover-up and wrestled his body back into the shower and left him there the way he was found.

It is sad, but I'm not interested in thrashing anyone's character for the sake of it, even Jodi's. I'm more interested in understanding human behavior and what makes people stay in relationships like this and how something like this could happen. I think that's the draw for many to a site like this. We all want to know how and why something like this happened.
