Oh, I completely agree. I just think it's interesting that somebody would say "Abortion is so bad I'd hope my mom would die before having one" which is such a black or white statement (having lost a parent I can't imagine ever saying something like that) and then be completely fine with something else that's a no-no.

So fun fact: when I was trying to figure out if my mother in law (who committed suicide) was going to heaven or hell, I was told multiple times by my Catholic Deacons/Priests that the ONLY two sins that are unforgivable in the eyes of God are non-belief and blasphemy. Out of the entire Bible, those are the only two that God will condemn you to hell for. Now, that's not saying you can live life in total disregard for the 'rules' and then as your dying say 'oops, sorry, didn't mean any of it.' You have to honestly regret your decisions and feel remorse. So, receiving communion while pregnant (I'm assuming you meant out of wedlock, mT) is NOT a sin so long as you have gone to confession and been forgiven of your sins. If you are still engaging in premarital sex and receiving communion, only you and God will know that, and that will be taken up when you meet Him.

You are not crazy for going to the trial! If I lived closer I definitely would want to. I agree about Jodi looking frail. I think that is part of her strategy? I bet she's lost a good 20 lbs or more in prison. She was thin before, but not the way she is now.
I really hope the vibe you picked up from the jury is accurate. The media is so hush hush and conservative in regards to the jury. I would love to be a mind reader, lol!
