HIIIII GUYS!!! Ahhhhh....been a long day - had to drive home after trial so sorry for posting so late. They are really strict with phones in there so I basically had my phone off majority of the day (aka- unable to keep up/post). Anyways, been on for the past 1/2 hour trying to catch up! You guys are too funny. And yes- you found me!
Ok I have lots to say but will give a summary - to start.
So-- had a quick chat with Martinez in the morning- he came up to a few of us that were waiting to get in. Basically, he told us that it's really hard sitting there through this part of the trial - defense questioning Jodi. He said this while shaking his head- you can definitely see the frustration. He shook all of our hands and we all told him a little something like how much we appreciate what he's doing, blah blah. He then said things should 'pick up soon'. Ahhhhh...I like him.
So yesterday the judge instructed us that we were to have NO facial expressions whatsoever, but today-there were no instructions. Uhhhh...ya...I'm pretty sure I took advantage of that. It's just so hard sitting there not wanting to roll your eyes, sighing, laughing at the BS, etc. I'm pretty sure I did all of the above at some point during the first half of her testimony today. I mean, really??? She was BURYING herself!!!
Ok-my observations by sitting in the gallery:
Jodi- CREEPY. No way around that - and that's the best way to explain it. She is frail and so plain and boring looking, but I immediately got a creepy vibe. I was pretty close to her (especially this afternoon) so I got a good look. I really can't explain it, but it still gives me chills thinking about it. Not exaggerating. She looks so EMPTY. I can definitely understand when people explain that she would stare right through them. Although she didn't look directly at me where I was able to gauge that, but I could still tell. It's just straight up weird. And it's not because I know what she did. The 'aura' is just there.
Jury- awwww man - I couldn't keep my eyes off them. They are pretty hard to read- they all stay very serious and look either at Jodi or at Nurmi. Back and forth, back and forth. There were a few that were regularly taking notes, and for the most part, the rest look like they're listening intently-with a few exceptions: yesterday while the sex tape was playing (which btw- how boring was that?! I was very unimpressed with their phone sex 'skills' lol) Anyways, at 2 points in the tape there was one young guy (late 20s/early 30s?) that was holding back laughter. It. Was. Awesome. Once while Travis was 'complimenting' Jodi's lady parts (AHAHAHA!) and the other time when Travis was singing the 'National Anthem'. I wanted to crack up too! He straight up dissed Jodi! Lmao. Anyways, I took that as a good sign- he obviously wasn't buying the humiliation BS. And then as I mentioned on Dr. Drew- about 1/2 hour into the tape, the jury looked irritated. Like it was a waste of time, they weren't moved, get on with the show. Today, they walked in all having the stoic look. They looked more tired than yesterday tho. I watched to see if any of them looked at Jodi (some did) and if they smiled at her (I didn't see any). Although yesterday, somebody else in the gallery told me they saw one of them smile at her because she was smiling at them (don't remember if it was a guy or girl). Anyways, they were NOT having it in the afternoon today. There was obvious annoyance, frustration and impatience when Jodi was looking through the text messages (lots of shifts and head tilts). After that first long break- they were basically done. By the third time Jodi was reviewing, there were sighs, slight eye rolling, swiveling in chairs, one guy whispered something to another and they both chuckled- and then lots of them started looking at the gallery I saw a lot of them looking at JA's family. Thought that was interesting. I thought all of that was a good sign. Got the feeling they're not digging all of the BS. They showed LOTS of annoyance with Nurmi, especially at a specific point when Nurmi said something like 'before I get into xxx, let's go back real quick to...' (I wanted to scream so bad at that point. Literally wishing I was watching the live stream instead so I could!)
BTW- during these long @ss breaks (wtf were you looking at Jodi?! Ho-lee shit!) all I could think of was the sarcastic-filled conversations that were going on here at MDS. If you happened to catch me smirking, that is definitely what I was imagining.
Couple more random observations:
Jodi's demeanor gets really lax when the cameras are off. I know we've all agreed she is acting up on the stand, but I am now confirming that. F-ing crazy @ss.
Travis' family is amazing. They all hold a very professional demeanor and they show there are there for business.
Jodi's fam notsomuch.
JM looks smaller in person. (Have I said yet that I really like him???

)
Nurmi looks smaller too. No, really. He's still big, but not ginormous like he does on TV.
Overall, I am SO glad I got to attend the two days. I am crazy for doing it- I won't deny that when people make fun of me- BUT I'm not the only one. Man oh man, I was hanging with some strange peeps today!
Oh- and still no jury questions in the basket!!
I know there's much more to share, but I'll start there. Any q's???
Can't wait for tomorrow! I'll be back here in the mrng to watch along with you all!
