We've seen those 3 checks that I believe were Jodi paying back money she borrowed but maybe she borrowed quite a bit more between January and June. Maybe he had been talking about how he needed the money paid back soon, Jodi didn't have the money, knew she wouldn't be able to get it and panicked. It would have also made her mad that he needed the money back but could afford to go to Cancun with another woman. Between the money and jealousy maybe she snapped and hatched the murder plan.
