Ya know, I'm not an attorney (I just work for them) so I am not certain. However, here is my assumption - I would guess since this is a capital murder case, they are willing to let things in that perhaps the wouldn't have otherwise. I think that is why the judge is more lenient. Perhaps because the death penalty is resting on this, more is admitted. But, I am not an attorney, so this is just my guess as good or as bad as anyone else's would be.

Sorry to disappoint, I wish I could be like, "Hell no, that's mega illegal and they can clap her in irons right now!!!"

TOO TRUE!!! It's so much easier to make assumptions and misunderstand than to actually look for facts. ;) I had the wonderful opportunity to take a great World Religions course in college (at BYU actually) and it involved me researching and attending many various religions. I have a great respect for most religions - there is great beauty in pretty much every one I studied and attended. It's also amazing the amount of similarities between them, which I think is also wonderful to know.

If that were true about Catholics, then Jodi picked the wrong religion. Heck, she'd be like, "well yeah, I murdered Travis, but I said 10 hail Mary's so I'm all good...like it never happened!" Ummmmmm...NO!
