Arias spent the first two days of testimony by recounting his childhood and troubled romances as a teenager and when I was twenty years old, and on Wednesday provided crucial details about his relationship with Alexander.
Arias faces the death penalty if it becomes charged with murder in a case that seems worthy of the tabloids with tales of sex, violence and betrayal.
His team's defense lawyers did take the stand in an apparent attempt to win the sympathy of the jury in the hope that they see her as the victim of a philandering tyrant.
She says he killed in self-defense.
Prosecutors described Arias as a jealous ex-girlfriend who killed the man who was dedicated to motivating speeches.
The testimony was an unusual blend of Mormon theology and a description of their relationship, rated X.
At one point, Alexander was shown photographs of where he appears naked.
Alexander, who was a Mormon, Arias persuaded to become a member of the church and baptized in late 2006, as she recounted.
But at the same time, said he felt uncomfortable with the behavior of Alexander in the room as it was contradictory to the teachings of the church that forbids sex before marriage.
The same day that the baptized, Arias said the two retreated to the bedroom, took off their clothes to be used in church and had sex which cataloged as painful.
