I think JM may end up being hard to keep up with when he starts in on Jodi. So far he hasn't been to bad, but when he gets works up, he starts his rapid fire.

It's fine! I love talking about what I do! I do research for the University of New Mexico. Mostly related to heroin addiction, intmate stats here in NM..heroin is extremely rampant in these parts. On the clinical side I work with people with antisocial personality disorder and borderline personality disorder.

I really don't think the defense is trying to say Jodi killed because she was hit with a spoon as a child. They are establishing a pattern of Jodi being physically abused in her close relationships by people she loved from an early age to explain why she stayed with Travis despite him abusing her, which they are surely getting to. The defense haven't gotten to the explanation for self defense yet, so until they lay that scenario out about what specifically happened that day, you can rest assured the defense is never trying to draw such simplistic conclusions as "jodi killed Travis because she was hit as a kid".

Like you said, I think they're establishing why she was attached to Travis and allowed him to treat her the way it is alleged he treated her. What I'm getting from it is that the worse someone treated her, the more attached she became and that was the only way she knew. She longed for that closeness and acceptance no matter how much she had to sacrifice of herself to get it.

Yeah, looks like that was actually written while Daryl was testifying - that's the guy where they brought up her asking him for the gas cans to use on her incognito trip to AZ. I remember Matt being mentioned, but don't recall the full context - I believe JM said something like "isn't that when Matt McCarthy came to your house" and the guy said no.

Very easy to get all these people and all these statements mixed up - especially with the SLEW of boyfriends in Jodi's life!

I'm excited to see JM do his work. He's probably going to have to walk a tight line with questioning her. I only say that b/c I can't see how it would help the state to start hammering Jodi and yelling at her. On the other hand, I want to see that. Maybe all the jury will be so sick of Jodi they will want to see that. Yep, I don't JM is going to be able to contain his disgust with Jodi at all. I want to take a count and see how many times he has to tell her to keep her answers down to just yes or no. lol

Yeah, she is looking at the defense atty when he is asking questions, then turning to the jury to answer them. This is how experts are trained to testify at trial, but seeing a defendant do it is totally weird. She also watched them as they left the courtroom like a spider watching it's prey. It was ceeeeeeepy

Oh, I think we are all aware of that. What we see is that her upbringing and experiences are not very different from our own. I had a string of shitty relationships too. I think a lot of us have. Listening to her, I think most people, unless they've been pretty lucky, are fairly underwhelmed by her experiences. They're kind of normal IMHO.
