You might be thinking of Daryl - he was the older former boyfriend that was up last week. They have mentioned Matt a couple of times, but he has not taken the stand, nor has it been officially announced that he will. That's why there is a lot of speculation about him - plus he publicly claimed that he would lie for Jodi...which definitely discredits him!

The prosecution has rested it's case, so they have called all of their witnesses. They can call some rebuttal witnesses after the defense presents their case, I believe. I'm not sure exactly what the rules are, but I think these witnesses can only be called to dispute some of the things presented in the defense's case, not just anybody (I could be wrong about that though, not sure).

I really don't think the defense is trying to say Jodi killed because she was hit with a spoon as a child. They are establishing a pattern of Jodi being physically abused in her close relationships by people she loved from an early age to explain why she stayed with Travis despite him abusing her, which they are surely getting to. The defense haven't gotten to the explanation for self defense yet, so until they lay that scenario out about what specifically happened that day, you can rest assured the defense is never trying to draw such simplistic conclusions as "jodi killed Travis because she was hit as a kid".

No problem! he was mentioned by Jodi, so it is not impossible that he could be called to rebut some of her testimony. However, he seems like he'd be more of a defense witness.

I am a Clinical Counselor...I specialize in substance abuse and personality disorders. I only use the criminology in the context of my work with the inmate population...mostly research.

Oh, I think we are all aware of that. What we see is that her upbringing and experiences are not very different from our own. I had a string of shitty relationships too. I think a lot of us have. Listening to her, I think most people, unless they've been pretty lucky, are fairly underwhelmed by her experiences. They're kind of normal IMHO.
