I bet most of them wouldn't want to be within 10 feet from her in real life.
I know I would never spend a night alone in a house with her. No way. Even if she murdered Travis out of hurt/anger, I also think she's driven on impulse. By that I mean that I think with the right trigger she could murder over anything.

She slashed his tires. Twice. She sent emails to girls he was dating. She harassed him. The list.goes.on. Yet he still went back to her and he let her come back to him. Sorry, but no one forced his penis inside her. He did that all on his own. This poor little pitiful Travis that you're describing sure wasn't poor little naive, mentally underdeveloped Travis when it came to being successful in his career. He made great money and I don't think that would be possible if he had a mind of a 16 year old as some of you would have us to believe.

The fact is that Jodi killed him and nothing excuses that. But what is also clear is that Travis is not saintly Travis that spent his free time shining his halo and reading scriptures from the book of Mormon as team Travis wants everyone to believe. Sure, Jodi deserves to pay for what she did to Travis, but what does she need to pay? All this talk of how we don't know the facts can also be applied in Jodi's defense. We don't know how actually treated her, not for a fact. So it'd be just as fair to say to you to quit denying that he may have actually pushed Jodi over the edge with what went on behind closed doors. Even if he did, does it excuse murder? Absolutely not, but don't pretend to know what went on on one side if you don't know the other.

My whole point is that I don't pretend to know anything, because we don't know anything. I'm not saying I know what went on, you are.

Really? How many times in your life have you thought someone might kill you? It's a long way from slashing a tire to murdering someone. I've met some crazy people in my life but I've never been scared for my life. He knew this could happen? Come on.

You're right though in that there is something very wrong with Jodi. I'm not a psychologist either, but I think she probably has a personality disorder of some type. Either anti-social personality disorder or borderline personality disorder. But I don't think that she thinks that there is anything wrong with her. But again, I am not a psychologist.
I only think the abused women need to be locked up if they murder their abuser. I was abused as a child, so I feel like I can sort of relate to an truly abused person's point of view. (Each case is different, I realize that.) But, if you decide to murder your abuser, you should pay for that crime.

For example...I think the only thing that could make me want to murder someone is if they hurt my child in a really horrific way. I would have to decide if murdering that person would be worth being put to death myself or getting life in prison. Of course this is completely hypothetical, but I think that I would be willing to rationalize it out that either: yes, the revenge would be worth it, or no, I don't want to get that punishment, so I'm not going to do it. But, I would in NO WAY expect to get off scot-free if I murdered someone. Even if in my own mind I felt justified.

I don't know if any of this makes sense and it is a bit off topic, please excuse my ramblings.

Which is worse, murder or child molestation? Of course both crimes are heinous, but at the end of the day, someone who is molested is still alive.

In this case, you think child molestation is worse because you think Travis was complicit in his own murder by treating Jodi badly, so you care less about the victim.

    Use some critical thinking skills.

I'm basing what went on from the testimony of the very people you keep keep praising for their praise of Travis. Suddenly, though, when they say something negative that somehow turns into "Oh, well come on now, we don't know what really went on." So yeah, that's the part I find comical.

    This was deeper than Jodi slashing his tires. My saying that he feared she might kill him probably has something to do with, oh I dunno, that HE SAID HE FEARED SHE MIGHT KILL HIM?! Did he know it would happen? No. Humans can't see into the future. Did he fear it? According to his own words, yes. Oh, but wait. Maybe the friend that recalls Travis saying these things is lying, right? Here's what the friend said;

"Travis came over to our house at least every week, we had family dinners and we would always ask him about, how’s his love life, who’s he dating and recently, at that time, he had decided to leave Jodi and explained that the next day he was going to leave in his car and his tires were slashed,” “And the Sunday after that, he told us about it, and said, ‘Don’t be surprised if one of these Sundays, I don’t show up and you find me dead someplace.’

I don't know who you are mistaking me for but I never praised his friends and I never turned the negative things they are saying around into something else. I have often thought myself that I probably would not like Travis on first impression because I've heard a lot of people say he comes across as arrogant and that's not my thing. You are saying that we are only seeing the good things that are said about him, I feel you only see the bad things that are said about him. A lot of people have said that he was a great guy.

I did not know about the bolded part. Yeah, if he did say that in all seriousness then he is pretty stupid for not backing away.

How many times were his tires slashed? I thought his tires and Lisa's tires were slashed at Travis's house?

In Lisa Andrew's driveway if I remember correctly.

    Then Lisa's tires were slashed.

ETA: His tires were slashed twice and his girlfriend's once.

Thanks Glasshat. I read that Lisa's ex could have been the one to slash the tires and possibly had sent that anon. email to Lisa, but I think it was Jodi.

That's interesting. I've never heard that, but now I'm wondering. Though I think like you that it was most likely Jodi. Still, that's something to consider. Do you happen to remember where you read that?

And that's not true. In Travis' case, yeah,
I feel like he knew this could happen and he took the chance. Now, he's dead. But regardless, blame has nothing to do with my feelings on molestation/murder.

This discussion turned snappy when you told people they shouldn't have kids. I get that that is your opinion and all, but not all opinions are made to be heard. "If don't have anything nice to say... etc."

I feel like you act surprised that people react the way they do to some of the things you say. You're entitled to your opinion 100%, but you tend to get directly and personally offensive, whether it's intended or not. I wish you wouldn't do that. It creates a wall where people will refuse to see your point because they're so put off from your attitude, and they figure you can't possibly have a valid point.

Moving on, I'm about to get pretty real here...

I was sexually assaulted when I was a young teen by my ex-stepdad's buddy (who was also a local cop). No, it was not welcomed, for those who might think I was being a pervy tween. My parents were not around and he was in my house when I came home from a friends... Anyways, that fucked me up in the head pretty bad. I now am robbed of any ounce of innocence I have, and the people who are supposed to protect me (cops and my "dads crew") are now the enemy in my eyes. I had to see a therapist and eventually my mom's marriage fell apart when she learned my ex-stepdad was continuing a friendship with this D-bag. (This D-bag also introduced my ex-stepdad to the whore he cheated on my mom with, but I digress on that subject. Basically - that "good christian man" was a disgusting pig with disgusting pig friends.)

This was a long ass time ago, and I'm fine now. Yeah, I've seen the D-bag (now former cop) out in public places, and a deep rooted feeling of rage and embarrassment over takes me - but that's it. It definitely changed my life forever, but your perspective can determine how you come out of the negative. I think about it now and again and it makes me mad, but it happened. Can't take it back. I have a nice life now with a wonderful guy. I'm certainly happy I'm not dead.

Murder is irreversible. It's absolute. While molestation and rape are horrendous and will change a persons life forever, it can be healed, and that person has a chance to mend themselves. There's a reason why the legal system sees Criminal Homicide as the number one most punishable crime.
thank you for sharing this... my story is similar. step dad and his creepy friends decided to take notice when i began to develop around 11 years. i told my mom immediately after his friend came over to 'ask my mom to babysit', made me miss the bus waiting for her to get back and then tried to force himself on me. she went off on him and banned him from ever coming around again.

with pop's, i eventually learned to steer clear... i didn't say anything until they were separated because i didn't want to break the family.

in jr. high, my grades started slipping and i became kind of anti social. high school, i hung out with the punks and the goths, people who were as fucked up as me. i barely went to class so i barely graduated. sex = love and i stayed in abusive relationships and experimented sexually in ways i later realized were far too advanced for a girl that age. after high school, pretty much any man giving me attention made me very uncomfortable. to the point that i was nasty to them, called them out on their intentions. i was a man hating bitch. i haven't dated much in the last 10 years. so yeah, it fucked me up and i'm working on it.

i consider what happened to me low-level molestation. i got felt up. i was forced to feel... i didn't have a dick in my mouth as a child, but i was still molested and am a life long victim. i minimalised the incidents and didn't talk about them. i was embarrassed that it happened to me. i didn't really ask for help, because i just saw it as something that happened and was done with. i was old enough to understand that those things sometimes happened to kids and was wrong, but i didn't realize how it would effect me.

i would still rather have had that happen than have been killed. god! i'm such an ass hole. someone smite me!

I make no apologies for what I said about I hope they didn't have kids. It's a lot easier for someone to say something disregarding a child when they don't have any of their own.

Sorry you went through that. Your life is forever changed. And yeah, there's a reason homicide is punished more harshly. The reason is because while the states voted for the same penalties, the supreme court overturned it. Otherwise, it would have the same penalties.
i don't have kids. you know why? see my above post. actually... it makes me sad that i may never have kids because i'd make a fucking bang-up mother. how do i know this? because at this point i'm a very good person. i'm kind, perceptive, fun, intelligent and loving. i volunteer my time with charities instead of giving them money. i don't look at people as below me or above me because i understand that no matter who you are, you have had both good and bad experiences that lent it's hand to your flawed make-up.

you saying that i should never have kids is so insulting, i can't even. and to say, it's easy for me and my opinion is flawed regarding children, especially when it comes to molestation is completely off the charts stupid. if anything - my opinion trumps yours, glass hat.

I don't even know what a "bang up parent" is.

You can give me this story of why you'd be awesome and blah blah blah, but the fact remains that you have no children. You can't say what you'd do as a mother until you've been/are one. If you were a parent and a "bang up parent" (provided that's a good thing) I feel certain you would have more sympathy and would want, at the very least, the same punishment for a child molester as a murderer. I still make no apologies for what I said. I am a very strong advocate for children and it is lost on me why anyone else is not.

As for the smites, I give no fucks about smites. Smite away.

i'm sorry berm and shins - and i agree child moletsers should get lwop - i manage a family restuarant even tho it is an affluent area it is by an extended stay (which turns out probation agents had been stashing registered sex offenders) - about 30 mins from disneyland - so every day i would go to meagans website and print all the pics and room numbers of the offenders - ask my customers if they were staying there - then give them they flyers - it took awhile - but the hotel finally stopped because they lost so much buisness

Smite away.

I am a parent. If either of my kids had been molested, I'd want the perpetrator to be locked up for good. But murder is a worse crime, bar none. You can't came back from death.

I'm going to second that. I was molested as a kid as well and I survived. Yes it fucked me up but I survived. I agree murder is a worse crime. (I'm a parent as well)

She is a nutjob, but while it is most likely Jodi it is still completely plausible it was someone in connection with Lisa.
