Jodi is wearing black
Daniel Freeman (brother of Dess and friend of Travis) is first up on the stand. Defense up first.
Dates were wrong from yesterday. Dan fixes them. He lived with Travis when he returned from his mission. More talk about church stuff. Info about becoming a member of the church. Dan loves to talk about church. Lots of talk about how to baptism somebody. Travis was an elder in the church. Dan was not present when Jodi was baptized.
Trip- Travis and Jodi were acting as a couple? YES. Do you recall behavior with them being a couple? YES, except when we stopped to eat, while there Travis made a joking comment to the waitress that he was not dating Jodi. He was flirting with the waitress. Jodi was sitting there. Did you think Travis was dating Lisa? NO. Dan noticed no tension on the trip beside comment at dinner.
Did you become aware of a time they were no longing dating? YES. Fight nights and Jodi was not there and Lisa was. I was aware that Travis was still hanging around Jodi. Did you know of Jodi and Travis taking trips together? YES. Balloon festival and church history tour.
Approach (Judge) after Big Dude ask if Jodi just joined the Mormon faith to hang out with Travis. Juan objected.
Dan hung out with Jodi without Travis? YES. Jodi also hung out with Dan?s family. Jodi helped the Dan?s foster sister with photography. They talked a lot about faith and church. Hammocks and sleeping bags. Dan noticed more tension between Jodi and Travis. They had words but Dan didn?t hear what they said. 1 ? hours before they joined Dan and Dess. Poor Dan didn?t have anybody to invite other than his sister at the time. Travis did NOT want to be alone with Jodi which is why Dan would go (Dan said this)

Dan thinks Jodi loved Travis. (Objection from state a few times, then question is reworded) Dan then states Jodi loves Travis but was confused about her relationship with Travis.

Welcome! My doggies keep me company watching the trial too! And they ALWAYS agree with me! ;)
Been lurking and finally jumping on. I knew both Travis and Jodi casually. To clarify, from the times I met and spoke with Jodi, I recall her being about my same height or close. I am 5'7". The grand canyon pic is on uneven ground, so that's hard to judge by. I have been pretty obsessed with this case since day one because I knew them both. To this day, I still remember my shock when I heard about Travis, and more so when I heard about Jodi. I had really liked her and she is very likeable in person. But I really hope she gets first degree because it is obvious she planned this, tried to cover it up on multiple occasions and the killing was beyond brutal!! That's no self defense. And while I didn't particularly like Travis (came across as arrogant, cocky and like a player - which I now know is true - so I wasn't interested), he sure as hell didn't deserve anything CLOSE to such a horrific end. So sad!
There are a few Facebook friends of mine who are mormons and they love visiting the prison, so it doesn't surprise me that the Freemans go visit Jodi. Maybe they're trying to help save her soul from the pits of hell. Welcome new MDS members!

Welcome, Chelsey... It seems Jodi must be very likable in person. It's actually true of lots of sociopaths--they're quite charming in person (but it's just a persona--they convey who they think people want them to be).
Yeah, I don't get that. I have no desire to go visit someone in jail! There is a couple here that was arrested and AZ is planning to try them for Murder 1 because they locked a little 10 year old girl Amy in a footlocker and she died. They were the kind of people that tried to go to the church in hopes to get money, and many of the members tried to help them (not financially for various reasons, but by donating things). They actually kept writing to the ward trying to get visitors in jail. I knew them fairly well and I don't think you could pay me to go visit them after discovering all the horrible tortures they put this girl through. Man, I know three people being tried for Murder 1 - how the hell did that freaking happen?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!? WHAT?!?!?! (I may be a bad person, but I have no desire to "save their souls" or Jodi's - they deserve the pits of hellx10!)
