They are trying to make travis look bad. Which is more or less the Defense's gameplan. As a Def Attorney, you throw everything out there and hope something works. For example, if there is one woman on the jury who has been cheated on or maybe abused, maybe they will let their emotional bias take over for reasoning. Not saying it will work, but with the deck stacked against them as it is, the Defense has to try something.

You are probably right. But remember, all it takes is one juror. They screen jurors as best they can, but a few usually slips through the cracks. i was once on a jury that involved lots of cops testifying. One of my fellow jurors had her children taken away by cops the decade prior (CPS issues) so we found out she hated cops and wouldn't listen to their testimony. She was a hot mess. We tried to get her kicked off but to no avail. Luckily she was on her meds the week we had to actually make our decision or the defendants would have walked. Point being, humans are human and some do let their emotions get the best of them.
