Oh yeah, that too. She looked more afraid, pleading to me.

I think she wanted it to look that way: sad, scared, pleading. But it was waaaaay over the top IMHO.

She reminds me of Casey Anthony. Nothing she shows is a genuine emotion, it's all planned.

I think with Casey Anthony, the only genuine emotion that we saw were the flashes of anger. I haven't seen that yet with Jodi Arias (has anyone else?).

Hello! I'm new here...but like most of you I am addicted to this case. I decided to try and read all the prior pages (after all....what else have I got to do until the 29th. ) I enjoy reading the occasional true crime novel, but really love the courtroom stuff. It's a bit of an escape from the usual stay at home mom stuff.

It's so funny reading these posts from back in 2008 and 2009. The ninja theory had just evolved...Ron was still thinking she was innocent, some weird guy prophesied weird stuff, every few pages there were debates about if she was hot or not, people were dying to see all the pics that we have all seen now, and a few very clever people thought she'd eventually plead battered woman/self-defense. I find it very interesting when there is an occasional post from someone who knew Jodi or Travis personally.

Anyhoo...just wanted to introduce myself...I'll try to contribute good stuff if I can.

P.S...Kristenella...your posts always make me laugh. From one Hoosier to another, hello!

I agree. Casey had those devil horns when she was angry. I haven't seen it but I bet Travis saw something like that when she attacked him.

I agree...Casey was scary mean to her "friends" and family...I wouldn't want to get in a fight with her. Jodi seems more like typically sociopath...she seems to lack genuine emotion and compassion. It's like she is imitating what real emotions are.

    I agree completely.

I missed watching the Casey Anthony trial. I wish I had seen it while it was happening.

I was really surprised when the prosecution rested...but I really think Martinez is awesome and knows exactly what he is doing. He gave the essential bare facts that prove she did it. Now it places the case in the defense hands to do what they can. They will have to show her confessing using her self defense story to the jury. It places the burden back on them. Of course when they are done it will shift back to the prosecution and I think that is when Martinez will REALLY show his stuff. He is always way more aggressive when he follows the defense after cross examining...I think it will be the same way for the rest of the trial. I can't wait to see him tear the defense apart.

No anger that I've seen. Just embarrassment and fake sadness

Me too. I watched a few shows on it but didn't get into it like I have with JA. I'm honestly scared of what the outcome of this will be.

Agreed. The whole boo-boo face thing is what sealed it for me. It's like she's an alien from another planet mimicking human emotion, but not getting it quite right.

Casey Anthony was suuuuuch a bitch to her ffiends and family, as witnessed in the jailhouse calls where she was all ME ME ME ME ME. I wasn't able to watch the Casey Anthony trial live, but my daughter and I would watch as much as we could at night (my daughter is an adult, BTW).

I hope you're right about this. I hate that we have to wait til the 29th to get this going again.

Welcome to MDS! Glad to see more of us amazing and awesome Hoosiers on here! What part are you from? I'm from the region, but have been in Indianapolis for the past few years.

I'm super addicted to this case as well and it's going to kill me to wait until the 29th. If I was on the jury I would be pissed that I had to be questioned because of her mom's allegations. If they know the reasoning behind it (or find out) I can't see how that would help make friends!

i'm kind of happy the jurors got called in before the long recess. maybe it put the fear of god into them and they won't be tempted to do something stupid...

i'm glad i'm not on this jury. i would be great on a jury - i can be totally impartial when needed... except when the death penalty is on the table. life is fine, but don't you dare ask me to decide if someone is worth of death!

As long as I didn't have to actually give the person the death penalty, I'd be OK. Like if I had to decide between two charge, one of which carried the death penalty and the other which did not. I would choose which charge based on the evidence alone, I would not consider what the punishment was. It's semantics maybe, but I didn't choose the punishment, just which charge was valid.

yeah, no... that would cause me to go impartial. i'm so against the dp that i would have to go with the lesser charge by default. then again, i guess they just wouldn't put me on that jury, so...

we need people like you on DP cases tho! it's ppl like you that keep people from getting death.

I'm surprised the roommates haven't been called to testify, or the couple that was in 48 hours that supposedly had a weird feeling about Jodi and wouldn't allow her to be around their children. The thing that still bothers me with the roommate that was there is did he not ever wash laundry in those 5 days to see all the blood and the camera? Even if he didn't notice the smell how did the washing machine get no use... it didn't seem like they lived like slobs.

I think Jodi's attorneys have done a horrible job so far. The woman never even asks witnesses questions, she just makes statements and then says "right" expecting a yes or no. I don't think she's made one good point so far. The guy never gets to anything good either. And why does he shave his head when it looks from the shadow that he has a full head of hair?

Also, perhaps the jurors asked the question about alibis for the roommates because they think a roommate might have helped Jodi commit the murder. I could see how someone might think it would take another person there helping to carry it out and from the angles of some of the pictures.
