i'm not blaming him for getting murdered, but as far as a legacy... we all could die at any time and whatever we have done up to that point is our legacy. no one's is going to be perfect but just because someone was murdered doesn't mean they've never made a mistake. he had things to be proud of and things that he probably wouldn't have been proud of looking back. i think whitewashing someone's life because they've died is more offensive than acknowledging the things they struggled with and mistakes they made. that gives other people something to learn from rather than "oh he was a perfect person everyone loved him no one ever had a problem with him" like people tend to do when someone dies.

I think it's the Mormon denial that makes his legacy so much easier to tarnish. He was supposed to be waiting for marriage, and pictures of him naked with another girl is going to call him out.
