Exactly. You need to protect yourself from the Nancy Graces of the country.

Anyone who would agree to be interviewed by that cow needs to have their head examined in my estimation.

I agree. No way would I do that. People say they should do it to get the info out on your missing loved one, but Nancy will do that for you anyway if you refuse to go on. She'll make you look guilty, but the info will be out there.

Wow, that sucks! You should post about your experiences somewhere on here, if you haven't already. Maybe in General Off Topic?

The parents were cooperative at first, but I think they'd just had enough. I can understand that and to me it doesn't speak to guilt.

Hey, I wouldn't have voted to convict Casey... It's the curse of being born a Libra. I look at both sides until I'm dizzy with it. I don't say the parents are always guilty, but I find it much easier to blame Mom or Dad (or step mom or dad) then it is to believe some random dingo's got the baby.

But I'm always open to the possibility.

Unless the kidnappers leave the parent(s) corpse(s) behind, or snatch the child on live TV during a taping of the Today Show, the parents get blamed. Which is usually the right answer. Who else usually has means, motive and opportunity?

Right, I'm talking about THIS case. We were discussing THESE parents.

Woman Reports Possible Baby Lisa Sighting In Manhattan
Riley County Police tell 13 News they're searching for a car that a witness says might have missing Kansas City baby Lisa Irwin inside.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County Police tell 13 News they're searching for a car that a witness says might have missing Kansas City baby Lisa Irwin inside. The 10-month-old vanished from her home exactly two weeks ago.

Around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, a woman eating at McAlister's Deli off of Tuttle Creek Boulevard says she spotted two women with a baby that matched the missing child's description.

"We had a call from a woman who was inside McAlister's who saw a child that looked like the missing baby with two women that, for whatever reason, kind of made her feel suspicious in the way they reacted to her looking at them. When they left the business, she got a vehicle description and direction of travel of the car and she then notified the police," said Captain Kurt Moldrup, an administrator with the Riley County Police Department.

The witness described the car as a small black vehicle, 1998-1999 model with possible Missouri tags. She told officers the car headed north on Tuttle Creek Boulevard towards Riley but after that, Moldrup says the driver could have turned and went in any direction. Tuttle Creek Boulevard is a main arterial roadway in Manhattan, with access to Highway 24 and K-177 and K-18, both of which lead to Interstate 70. Moldrup could not provide a description of the women that were with the child.

"We were unable to locate any such vehicle. We then put out an attempt to locate to other area agencies just to make sure we had the bases covered. Obviously, we took this tip seriously but that's all we have. We have no way of knowing whether it was the baby or not. We treat it as such. We've also notified the Kansas City Police Department, the agency handling her disappearance," Captain Moldrup added.

When asked how sure the witness was that the baby she saw was Lisa Irwin, he responded, "She was sure enough that she felt she need to call us." The woman, whose name is not being released, was being interviewed Tuesday afternoon and Moldrup said officers would be looking for any surveillance footage captured in the area.

13 News contacted the Topeka Police Department who said they had not been alerted to the incident. The Kansas Highway Patrol in Salina also said they were not alerted as of 3:00 p.m.

Kansas Highway Patrol in Topeka said they had been alerted by what they say was another law enforcement agency of the possible sighting and vehicle description. They said the alert was based on a report from an individual and that no area Amber Alert was issued.

The Kansas Highway Patrol in Topeka told 13 News that Riley County is the lead agency in providing information as to a possible sighting of Lisa Irwin.

Officials in neighboring Junction City and Geary County said they were not aware of any notifications that members of their agencies received on the incident but Captain Moldrup says Riley County dispatchers did put out a notice after the call came in from McAlister's. He confirms that an Amber Alert was not issued.

Customers coming out of the restaurant after the incident told 13 News they were shocked about the possible sighting but hopeful because it would mean that Baby Lisa is alive.

Earlier Information On Missing Baby Lisa Irwin

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The mother of a missing Missouri baby may not be casting herself in the best light by telling national media that she drank heavily the night her daughter disappeared and other unflattering details, but her honesty shows that she and her family "have nothing to hide," her attorney said.

Deborah Bradley told television audiences Monday that she may have blacked out in the hours before she and Jeremy Irwin reported that their 10-month-old daughter, Lisa Irwin, was missing from their Kansas City home early Oct. 4. Bradley also now says she last saw her daughter hours earlier than she originally told police.

"I don't recall in recent history anyone under this umbrella of suspicion be so open and forthright, warts and all, regarding the events. Because they have nothing to hide," said attorney Joe Tacopina, who held a press conference Monday to announce he had been hired to represent the couple.

The parents reported their daughter missing after Irwin returned home from working a night shift and found the front door unlocked, the house lights on, a window tampered with and the baby gone. Bradley and their two sons were asleep elsewhere in the house.

Police have said they have no suspects in the case and no major leads. On Monday, the parents allowed the FBI to bring tracking dogs through their home. The FBI also searched a neighbor's house with the dogs, as well as the yard of the home where Bradley and Irwin have been staying with their two sons.

Bradley had said in previous days that she checked on Lisa at 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, but on Monday told NBC's "Today" show that she actually last saw Lisa when she put her to bed at 6:40 p.m. She did not explain why she changed her story.

Bradley told Fox News that she got drunk after she put her daughter to bed that night and may have blacked out. She said she "probably" drank more than five glasses of wine, and said she frequently drank at home after her children were safely in bed. She also said she had taken a dose of anti-anxiety medication that day.

Bradley told NBC that police accused her of killing Lisa, but she insisted again that she had not harmed her daughter.

"No, no. ... I don't think alcohol changes a person enough to do something like that," she said.

Tacopina, who also defended Joran Van der Sloot, the Dutch man suspected in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba, said Bradley detailing her drinking the night Lisa went missing "goes to her credibility."

"That's something she was willing to tell the truth about even if it didn't make her look good because she's got nothing to hide," said Tacopina, who refused to say who was paying him and would only say that he had been hired to counsel the parents through the investigation.

Sean O'Brien, associate professor of law at University of Missouri-Kansas City, said it was difficult to read anything into Bradley's remarks about her drinking or about what police told her. But he said it was wise for the parents to hire a lawyer, and they likely should have done so earlier given what Bradley has said about police accusing her of being involved in the baby's disappearance.

"When the questioning becomes accusatory ... it's time to shut up and lawyer up," O'Brien said.

But he noted that police remain the family's "best hope" of finding the baby, so Bradley would want to continue cooperating.

They should have mentioned in the article that the two women with the baby in the restaurant left before they got their food which is strange. Also this happening so close to where the baby lived it is highly suspicious to me.

Day 15: Police serve search warrant on baby Lisa's family home

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - Police said Tuesday night they have a warrant to search the family home on North Lister Avenue of missing 11-month-old Lisa Irwin. They also said the family is not allowed in the home.

That new development comes shortly after Riley County police confirm the baby seen with two women in Manhattan, KS Tuesday afternoon was not baby Lisa.
They said they made contact with the two women after witnesses reported a possible sighting of a baby that fits 11-month-old Lisa Irwin's description about 120 miles west of the Kansas City metro.
Kansas Highway Patrol officials said Riley County police asked them to put out an alert on a small black car with Missouri license plates with two women both in their 20s and a baby inside. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the women were seen at a McAlister's Deli in Manhattan, KS just after 1 p.m. but left after witnesses said people took notice of them.
Meanwhile, in Kansas City, police activity picked up at a search area near the Irwin home on North Lister Avenue. Several detectives searched a wooded area just off North Brighton in hopes of a lead in finding baby Lisa, but that hope was deferred as the search turned up empty. The area searched was one that police said they have searched before but they said their investigation brought them back to the site.
What started out with just a few police cars and detectives parked on the east side of the street turned into nearly 20 officers plus crime scene investigators and search dogs. Two crime scene vans arrived at the location some time after the search began. KCTV5 crews on scene noticed CSI pulling out equipment such as dirt sifters, but police said they are still back to square one with no new clues.
During the search, the FAA closed airspace to helicopters citing police safety as the reason. Police said if they had found something, the helicopters might have interfered.

Earlier in the day, the parents of baby Lisa have been in and out of a home on North Walrond Street on Tuesday.
Baby Lisa has been missing for nearly two weeks now after her parents say she was taken from her crib.
Police say the last "unrestricted conversation" police had with Lisa Irwin's parents was Oct. 6. After that, Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin sought legal counsel from a local lawyer.
That was before their latest attorney, New York defender Joe Tacopina, was hired by an anonymous benefactor and introduced to the public on Monday.
Police would also like to talk to Lisa's other older brothers who were home the night Lisa went missing.
Bradley told media outlets she was against re-interviewing the boys, but Tacopina insists everything is still on the table.

Elizabeth Smart Remains Optimistic About Baby Lisa

Missing baby Lisa is probably still alive.

That's the view of kidnap victim Elizabeth Smart, who was abducted from her own bed, just like Lisa Irwin's parents claim she was.

At an event in Los Angeles, Elizabeth told People magazine, "I think she's alive. Maybe I'm just an eternal optimist, but I always hope that whomever is kidnapped or disappears is still alive."

"There's always hope," says Smart, "The most important thing is to press forward with this, continuing on and not giving up."

"Having media involvement, in any case, of any child going missing, or any person going missing, is one of the key factors that can really help bring that person home," said Smart.

And in another alleged kidnapping case, it's our first look inside a filthy basement dungeon where cops say four victims were imprisoned. One was shackled to a boiler. They were allegedly held captive for at least a year.

Authorities say four mentally impaired people, three men and a woman, were imprisoned in a house of horrors in Philadelphia so that their abductors could cash their Social Security checks.

Three people have been charged with kidnapping and imprisonment.

But this horrifying case has yielded a crumb of good news. A Florida teenager, missing for four months, has been found safe as a result of the investigation.

Cops say 15-year-old runaway Benita Rodriguez, who vanished from her home in West Palm Beach, Florida, in July, was dating the son of one of the accused kidnappers.

The missing girl's mother was overjoyed to learn her child is safe.

"Big, big relief. That my daughter was alive," said the mother.

Interesting. Maybe she got the idea from this incident and decided to try and do a better job covering it up.

There are a lot of similarities aren't there. This was the woman who was too busy playing X-Box to feed her baby.
And then Lisa's mom made the statement about her being "well fed", there was no need to even bring that up.

Wut, of course she's going to desperately try to throw in as many statements as possible to prove she's a good mother, such as saying the baby is well fed. I mean, let's say the baby was abducted, she knows people are going to be looking at her, not just suspecting she actually did something but also, if the abduction is real, wondering what shitty ass parenting moves she did that allowed this to happen. And I bet she's asking herself the same thing.

I feel there is something "off" about this whole story the parents are spinning but I am trying to reserve my judgment until more comes out because they could be totally innocent and just look totally guilty. Also, I would totally lawyer up and refuse a polygraph in that situation...it is WAY to easy to get railroaded in situations like that. Cooperate with the police by all means, but with a lawyer...once they get their sights on you...innocent or guilty they won't back off and will develop tunnel vision.

It wouldn't occur to me to say my baby was well fed, because of course she is. I do think that's a very strange thing to emphasise when talking about your missing child.

I think you would be really frankly surprised what kind of rambling you do when you're in a highly volatile emotional situation and trying to remind yourself and the world that you're an okay person.

Perhaps. I wouldn't be judging myself as a "not okay" person if somebody kidnapped my baby when I had done absolutly nothing to put her in harms way. I would only grasp at straws if I felt guilty for something. I'm not talking about the kind of guilt that comes when something happens that you couldn't have helpped. I'm talking you know you did something terribly wrong.

I don't know..if my baby was missing, I be too scared for her to be worrying about how I looked or defending myself.
The police want to find the baby. What good would it really do them to try to railroad the parents?
Imagine you go into your baby's room and the baby is gone. Would you really be more scared for youself than for
    your baby?
Maybe I am reading too much into it, guess we'll see.

I am 100% sure that the last thing on my mind would be reminding the world that I'm an OK person.
