The family of a nine-year-old girl who died after being found seriously injured on an industrial estate in Arbroath said they are "devastated" at her loss.

Police have named her as Minnie Merriman from West Yorkshire. She died in Dundee's Ninewells Hospital on Monday.
A 35-year-old man, who police said was known to the girl, has appeared in court charged with her murder.

Christopher Rice from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, made no plea during an appearance in private at Forfar Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody.

He is expected to appear again in court next week.
Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death and the other members of the family - who were camping in the area - are being supported by specialist officers.
I want to know more, but with it being in Scotland I'm not sure we will find out much more.
