A man and woman were arrested after two sets of human remains were found along a nature trail in Burke County, said the county’s sheriff’s office.

Jamar Propst and Tosha Lewis, both 36, were arrested July 25 after a joint investigation with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation that began when human remains were found along a nature trail.

Propst and Lewis were charged each with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of felony conspiracy, according to a July 25 press release.

The remains of the first victim were discovered on July 21 and later identified as 31-year-old Raheim Murray of Morganton. The second victim had not been identified as of this writing.
