Law enforcement on Tuesday released the identity of one of several people found dead in recent days near bodies of water in Minneapolis.
Minneapolis Park Police responded to a report of a body found about 6 p.m. Saturday in woods near East River Parkway and SE. Oak Street, steps away from the Mississippi River, according to a Park Board statement.
The victim was identified by Minneapolis police as Karen Lynn Sognesand, 56, of Maple Grove.
On Monday afternoon, University of Minnesota police responded to a report after a man’s body was found near 6th Avenue SE., and SE. Main Street, close to the Stone Arch Bridge, according to university spokesman Joe Linstroth.
