Here is [s]Lee's Mum's [/s] a blog about Lee- http://letsfindlee.wordpress.com/
This is what the writer thinks happened as of Jan 2010
Lee wanted to get away. He felt no connection to anyone anymore, they were all drifting apart from him. All of his good friends had their other people they were close too- and he was losing more and more bonds. He decided to take off, with all intention of never coming back. He bought the Advil, and he threw his pants/ wallet in the river, then put on extra pants he had in the car. Now this next part has a couple possibilities.
One: A truck (or car) driver pulled over for a rest stop and Lee said his car wouldn’t start/ had a problem/ anything like that. Asked for a ride to wherever the driver was going. The driver thought nothing of it. Probably because Lee has something about him, everyone feels comfortable around him. Lee ended up wherever the truck driver went. Something happened though. Whether it was the driver, somewhere he got dropped off, someone he tried to go home with.. someone did something wrong. I know myself, and I know Lee. We are a lot alike.. we care about everyone around us more than ourselves, and sometimes we slip. Last night when I wanted to leave, I thought I would never come back. But when I woke up this morning, I knew I could never just never come back. Lee could never just not come back. There was foul play. Someone hurt him, something bad happened. I have no reason to be optimistic.
Two: He decided to go for a walk. Lee loved to walk and experience nature. The outside was his oasis. He started to climb up the steep mountain to get a better view of the very scenic area. (I know because I saw it). Now, even though it is believed that Lee could only have gotten so high on those mountains because of the danger– Lee did it, and got much higher. Almost to the top. He thought about things, and the clean air brought him back to his senses. He wanted to go home. But on his way down he fell, broke his leg/ foot/ anything that would keep him from getting back down. No one looked ever looked there. By the time that they used heat sensing waves — he was too cold. He was never found. There is no reason to be optimistic.

I just watched the Disappeared episode on OnDemand. A very intriguing case. I really recommend it to everyone.
It seems to me that Lee most likely walked away from his life and family to start anew, but it's entirely possible that something happened to him along the way.
Is there any new leads out there? The show mentioned his cousins in Isreal talking to the Isreali authorities about the possibility of him there. Anything come of that?
"Few other griefs amid the ill-chances of this world have more bitterness and sting to a man's heart than to behold the love of a woman so fair and brave that cannot be returned."
From his facebook group page;
July 28, 2010:
There is confirmation that Lee was alive in late 2007. Someone made contact with him at a homeless shelter in Minneapolis, MN. He talked about going to California. While this is still almost three years ago, it is confirmation that he survived outside of WI. It is confirmation that he most likely staged the items found in the river. If you have any contacts in the California area, please send them to this page or email them a picture. We are hoping for all your help in locating our friend and family member. We just want to know that he is alive and happy. We all miss him so much.
So on the let's find Lee fb page, his mother's new husband has posted that news is expected soon. I have no idea what that means or why he is 'teasing' people but not just saying what is going on. Donald Nathan is the husband.

A little early for the onset of schizophrenia but it could make sense especially since he was "supposedly" seen at a homeless shelter. Could also be an extremely cleverly planned out murder, I mean I never plan on killing somebody but if I do man I'm gonna throw so many loops into that shit LOL

And our newest rugrat MISS MARLEE!!!
I remember this was the first episode of Disappeared I actually saw and it always stuck with me. I could kinda relate with this kid and my mom actually grew up in Buffalo Grove, went to Buffalo Grove Highschool. I would love to hear a resolution to it someday, he seemed wise for his age and it would be a tragic loss to lose someone with so much potential like that. Though sadly enough intellectuals tend to be more prone to mental illness. :/
