The Platte County Sheriff’s Office has filed a laundry list of charges against a man accused of shooting and killing three women in a northland Kansas City home.
Armando Navarro has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action, first-degree assault and animal abuse in connection with the incident.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire near NW 65th Street and Green Hills Road at approximately 12:45 a.m. Sunday. According to newly released charging documents, police were called to the scene by a fourth victim who had been shot and ran for help at a nearby home.
Upon arrival, officers were directed to a residence where they discovered three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
All were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have now identified the victims as:
Jodie Hopcus, 49
Sherri Duncan, 73
Hailey Hopcus, 24
Police also found a dog inside the home with a fatal gunshot wound.
The fourth victim identified Navarro as the suspect and said he left the home in a 2020 Ford Expedition that was owned by one of the victims.
