Warren and Roseville police are investigating the disappearance of a Warren mother, last seen Jan. 2, whose car was found in Roseville, where police said they took a dumpster and other evidence from an apartment complex where her ex-boyfriend lives.

Police determined Tuesday there was "a strong possibility of foul play involved in this incident," likely occurring in Roseville at the Hampton Court Apartments, where the missing mother, Ashley Elkins, may have been, according to a joint release from the two departments Wednesday.

Family reported the 30-year-old missing to Warren police on Friday, according to the release. A Warren police release Tuesday stated she left her southeast Warren home the morning of Jan. 2 to run some errands, and investigators confirmed she was last in Roseville that afternoon.

Neither family nor law enforcement have been able to make contact with her since. Elkins' mother and sister referred questions Wednesday to her uncle, Maurice Morton, a Detroit attorney.

De’Andre Booker, 32, Elkins’ former partner, has not been charged in connection to her disappearance.

Family and friends of Ashley Elkins plan to gather Saturday at a Roseville apartment complex to conduct a vigil for the missing mother, a spokesperson for the family said Thursday.

Elkins, 30, of Warren, has been missing for about three weeks and is presumed to be dead, according to police and family members.

The vigil’s location is the former residence of Elkins’ ex-boyfriend, DeAndre Booker, who is considered the prime suspect in her disappearance.

The ex-boyfriend of a missing Warren woman now is facing first-degree premeditated murder and other charges in connection with her disappearance and presumed death.

Deandre Howard Booker, 32, of Roseville, was arraigned Friday in 39th District Court in the disappearance of Ashley Elkins, whose body has not been found.

Booker was ordered held in the Macomb County Jail without bond on the murder charge as well as three other charges related to tampering with evidence; removing a dead body, disinterment and mutilation, and concealing the death of an individual and failing to inform a funeral home or law enforcement.

Booker's attorney, Robbie Lang, said Booker would stand mute and the court entered a not guilty plea for him. A probable cause conference was set for Wednesday, and a preliminary exam was set for Feb. 12.

People are fucking stupid. With advances in science, and changes in the law, there is no longer "no body, no crime". They can chop the body into a million pieces, and it wont matter.
