That's a good one. I lived over in England during the early 90's so this was a HUGE deal during that time. The way they have covered up for the guys who did it is sick. They have given them new identities and lives to keep them from being harassed after they got out of prison. It's interesting that the one that they thought was a psychopath hasn't been arrested again as far as I know, and the one they said was remorseful and had a low chance of committing further crimes has been arrested on pedophilia type charges again and again. Just further backs up my thoughts that people don't really reform if they commit serious crimes.
David Glenn Lewis is THE case I wish to have the answer to the most. It’s so crazy.
I cannot remember the guys name but there’s another similar one where a guy is traveling for his kid’s birth and is on the phone with his dad off and on but never shows. He ends up being found hanging in the family’s barn miles in the opposite direction and his car wasn’t ever found.
Someone help me out if you know his name.

RBW I had the same exact thoughts! The psychopath has flown under the radar all these years? The one with the child abuse materials was obviously the one that wanted to sexually assault the little boy. They also tried to abduct the other little boy, but were stopped by a mom.
They are both sick, and shouldnt be given a new identity, its bullshit. Didnt they give the one 2 different new identities?

Ang, there was universal outrage and shock, as you would expect. Stuff like that didn't happen back then. It was like the end of the innocence.

I literally spent an hour looking for that case OCN. I tried but I suck and RBW is soooo much better than me.
I read over the whole article, and the whole case is really weird and confusing, but I think Im leaning towards him commiting suicide. The knocked out teeth and blood is unusual, but could have happened during the strangulation. I could be wrong, thats just my take.
I recently watched a show on this too. It floored me that kids that young could be so horrific. We have a local case that also had a kid involved. Eric Smith murdered Derrick Joseph Robie in 1993. Eric was released in 2022 so it was all over our news for a while.

She went missing and a woman was found 5 years later and was killed by a vehicle. The body was identified as her based on photos shown to the family. They think she was abducted and then somehow got away and while running got killed by a car. So they decided to exhume the body to test DNA, just to make sure, and when they exhumed the body it was not the right body, it was a man. They still don't know where they body they think is her actually went.

Whoa, those are crazy! The one about the deputy is local to me and I have never heard it.
I watched The Curious Case of... one of the episodes was called the girl who died twice. SUPER crazy story. A woman had a bunch of kids, was notorious for cheating on her husbands...one of her kids went missing, she claimed she ran away. For years, it was suspected the mom and stepdad killed her. Then many years later, a woman claimed to be the missing girl. Tested her DNA to the mom and it was match. However, some things weren't matching up that she was really the missing girl. Some think since the mom slept around, this girl could be a child of hers but not the missing girl. Dad was long dead and cremated so couldn't test his DNA. The "missing girl" got cancer and on her death bed, still claimed she was the missing girl. Now she is dead and no one will ever really know.

Oh, I remember this case now. So if she matched the DNA of her mother, and lets say she wasn't Mary, did people not know of the mom being pregnant another time? Even the sister seemed very conflicted over whether it was Mary on the documentary I saw.
Yeah I think they said it was possible, with moving around a lot and she often times didn't have custody of the kids she had...so the sister said it was possible she had another kid or kids, as they went long periods of time without seeing their mom. The theory is the mom was about to be arrested and then boom, Mary shows up. They think in order to avoid arrest, the mom asked her unknown daughter to pretend to be Mary, which would explain why "Mary" didn't know certain things from their childhood.

Ah ~ I aso remember this one. I think she looks like the missing girl, but it sounds like her mom could have just had another child with someone else.
