A missing northwest Harris County man's body was found on the roof of a building on Friday and now his friends and family are questioning why he wasn't found sooner.

Jonathan Flores, 32, appeared to have been electrocuted, according to his friend Christian Briones, who discovered his body sticking out of a rooftop A/C unit at a business park of the West Sam Houston Parkway near West Road.

"His body was just laying inside the thing he was trying to take something apart," Briones said.

Flores' girlfriend said he left home early on Sunday morning.

Based on prior conversations with him, she said he suspected he could be somewhere in the general vicinity of the business park and said she requested detectives look there when she filed a missing person's report on Wednesday.

"They didn't look. They didn't want to look, and I told them," Briones said.

This is sad..and a little unusual. The article states that a friend found Jonathan's abandoned bike and then "smelled something bad" which led him to the roof where he found his friend's body. When I read this at first, it seemed like the guy had been working on the AC unit as part of his job, but now it sounds like they don't know what he was doing up there. Maybe stealing copper? That is a thing in "small-town-where-I-come-from" anyways.

Jenna I think it was a commercial AC unit and his body was found partially inside of it.

My guess was that he was stealing copper from the AC. I can't think of anything else he would be doing in the AC.

I'm on the stealing copper band wagon. He didn't deserve to die, but he wouldn't be the first to have ended up electrocuted by doing it.
