Melonie Ballenger (45) - missing since 11/3/2024 from Wylie, TX

Wylie police searched a second day for a woman last seen Sunday night — and have upgraded her case to that of a critical missing person.

The woman, 45-year-old Melonie Ballenger, was last seen walking near Country Club Road and Lakefield Road at 11 p.m. on Nov. 3, Police Sgt. Donald English said.

Ballenger, the mother of two children, had not taken medication pending upcoming heart surgery, police said.
Police began the search early Monday, Nov. 4, after being called to their home in the 100 block of Parkwood Drive by her husband.

Investigators confirmed that Ballenger left the house on foot, without her phone or vehicle.

The husband of a missing 46-year-old woman, who left their Texas home without her phone or car, is speaking out as search efforts continue.

Daniel told CBS affiliate KTVT that he and Melonie went to sleep on Sunday, Nov. 3, but that when he woke up that morning she was gone. "She left with nothing," he said.

Daniel said that both he and their daughters tried to find her, but when they couldn't, he called police.
Police previously reported that Melonie left home without her phone or car, but Daniel told the outlet she also left without her wallet, money or necessary medication.

According to her husband, she was scheduled to have heart surgery, while family members told the outlet she stayed home on Sunday because she felt sick.

“I love her. I hope she’s safe," he told WFAA. "Her daughters [are] missing her and we just want her back. Please come home."

Since she was spotted walking it sounds like she actually left on her own. Weird.

I agree and don't think this is like all the other stories where the spouse is involved.

Nah, she left to commit suicide. I guarantee it. Maybe she was just done with life and didn't want to go through with the surgery. Very sad for her family.
