The incident unfolded when deputies said they received a call regarding an apparent suicide involving OCSO Lt. Eloilda Shea.
However, after further investigation, homicide detectives determined her husband murdered her.
According to deputies, Anthony Shea was arrested Friday afternoon and is being held in the Orange County Jail on no bond.
In an internal memo obtained by WESH2 News, Sheriff John Mina said Anthony Shea resigned from the sheriff's office earlier this year while under investigation for allegations that would have resulted in his termination. He joined OCSO in October of 2006.
According to the sheriff, the couple has two young children.
