Former One Direction singer Liam Payne died outside a hotel in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, local newspaper La Nacion reported on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old British musician was found dead after falling from the hotel's third floor, it said, citing emergency services.

According to the report, witnesses say the singer fell from his fourth-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They add, "It's unclear if it was intentional or accidental."

Sources reportedly told the outlet he was acting "erratic" in the hotel lobby earlier in the day, and smashed his laptop.

Did he jump off the balcony to run away from the cops that he knew were on their way? I read he was carried back to his room. By security, I would assume, but "carried" is very strange wording. If you know he's breaking shit, why would you, in effect, send him to his hotel room to possibly break more shit?

Shortly before Liam Payne fell to his death from a balcony, a hotel manager reportedly called 911 to report the former One Direction star was wasted and destroying his room.

According to a 911 transcript, obtained by several media outlets, Payne was in the throes of a complete meltdown in his third-floor room at the CasaSur Hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires.

The operator opened by asking about the type of emergency unfolding at the hotel.

The manager said there was a guest "who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol," and he was breaking up his hotel room, so they needed assistance.

The manager also expressed concern the guest's life was at risk, noting the individual had been staying in the room for 2 or 3 days and hotel staff was unable to gain access.

Unfortunately, by the time the cops arrived, Liam had already fallen from the balcony of his third-floor room and was lying dead on the ground below.

Liam Payne died by an apparent suicide ... local law enforcement in Argentina now says the fall from his third-floor hotel room was intentional.

A police official in Buenos Aires told The Associated Press Liam "had jumped from the balcony of his room."



According to the preliminary autopsy issued by government officials, the fall resulted in multiple injuries including “internal and external hemorrhage." The toxicology report is still pending.

As we reported, Liam landed on the pool deck below his room Wednesday afternoon in Buenos Aires -- but, the circumstances around the tragedy were not initially clear.

Ok his body was not found in a "reflex position" and he could have been unconscious. The fall wasnt long enough for him to lose consciousness. So my guess is, he passed out and fell.

He was dropped by his label and publicist and his girlfriend left 2 days before he died (not sure if they broke up, but I get the feeling she left to get away from him). Definite suicide and he went on a bender before doing the deed. It's a bit sad, but I saw some of his snapchats where he was talking to his girlfriend and kind of acting like a dick so I don't feel THAT bad for him. It's come out that he forced an ex of his to get an abortion and was asking young fans to send him nudes so...... I guess we know why the label and publicist dropped him. I had seen that people were coming forward about his behaviour.

3 charged in connection with One Direction star Liam Payne's death in Argentina

One person, who authorities say spent time with Payne every day while he was in Buenos Aires, is charged with abandonment of a person followed by death, a charge that carries a sentence of five to 15 years in prison, according to a news release from Argentina's National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office released Thursday.

The other two charged are accused of supplying Payne with drugs, including cocaine, and have been charged with two acts each of supplying narcotics. Officials did not say what the sentence for those charges could be.

One of the people charged with supplying narcotics is a hotel employee, the prosecutor's office said. The three people charged have been notified of the charges, the prosecutor's office said, and have been prohibited from leaving the country.

I have mixed feelings about people being charged. If he was abandoned and left to die, they absolutely need to be charged. However, drug dealers selling drugs to someone who is a drug user who throws themselves off a balcony...that part I am not so sure of.

The Mathew Perry case was totally different, as they were physicians who had an oath to protect and to act ethically.

I think they are starting to charge dealers because they want to set an example and keep people from selling drugs. Although, I am sure if this dude weren't a celebrity it wouldn't have happened.
