Helen Davy died (39) after being trapped and suffocated in an ottoman bed

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...-b2628761.html

A mother-of-two has died after her ottoman bed collapsed on her head and suffocated her.

Helen Davey, 39, was killed whilst leaning over the storage area of the bed when the mattress fell unexpectedly, collapsing on her head and leaving her trapped between its base and mattress.

The beautician was later found by her 19-year-old daughter at their home in Seaham, County Durham, on June 7.

Following an inquest into her death, which found one of the gas pistons used to raise the mattress was faulty, a coroner has warned there is a risk of further deaths if action is not taken on potentially defective beds.

Yikes. How horrible it must have been for her daughter to find her like that.

I'm assuming positional asphyxiation was the cause of death. If you get trapped in a strange position, you will suffocate and die. It's scary AF. Reaching in behind anything tall and against a wall like that girl that was "missing" but then found dead behind her bureau a week later. Or that kid that tried to reach something in the back of the mini van and got trapped upside down. He even called people (police? I don't remember) and told them he was trapped, but they couldn't figure out where he was. He died the same way.

Boston, I had forgotten about that case. This is the link for those that don't remember.

Yeah, that was a really sad case. Poor kid and it could happen to anyone! So don't be reaching behind things that are out of reach, folks. Do it the safe way.

That was the first thing I thought about when reading the title. That poor kid and the minivan. What a horrible way to die
