Aaliyah Evans (3) missing from Minneapolis, MN since 9/21/24

According to the MPD, Aaliyah Evans was last seen near the 2500 block of Lake Street E at around noon on Sunday.

She is described as a biracial girl with brown eyes and short curly brown hair with blonde streaks.

Evans is just over three feet-tall and weighs 35-40 pounds. She was wearing a white t-shirt and black jeans, according to the MPD.

According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Evans' mother left the girl with a homeless woman outside of a Target store. The BCA said she was acquaintances with the woman.

"The acquaintance left with the child, without the mother's permission," according to the BCA.

The woman who allegedly took Evans is "a 32-year-old bi-racial female, last seen wearing a tie-dye shirt and light gray leggings," according to the agency.

Parenting rule #5: do not randomly leave your tiny tot with a homeless person outside the Target, not even if you know that person. I'm thinking she didn't know that person and this story may sadly turn out horrific. I would love to be wrong, I really hope I'm wrong.

I have a feeling that story is bullshit.

Though, someone locally here did something similar. A little girl's grandfather left her with a homeless woman so he could go drink at a bar, and she was later reported missing. The woman took the girl back to her camp to feed her and she actually took care of the girl - and returned her when she heard she was reported missing. It was crazy.

I don't understand why she wouldn't have just brought her in to the store with her. Why leave the child outside with someone in the first place? It's not like kids aren't allowed in Target. There's more to this story, I just feel it.

I typed out a long response and lost it.

Most 3 year olds sit in the front of the cart and watch your phone. They may want something and not get it, and cry, but they stop.

Thinking about leaving my child at that age with an aquaintance outside makes me nervous. There is so much that could go wrong out of the woman's control. The girl could have been kidnapped or run into the street.

I dont trust this mom at all, and agree with BB.

Did she leave her to sit in one place and the kiddo got upset/scared/hungry and got out/up and wandered off so Mom made up the homeless lady story to cover up just leaving the kid alone?

I am so glad I'm wrong but Mommy needs to have her decision making ability looked into, no matter what happened.
